[Explosive 1]

The kid that McGillis got dunked on at the Big Time Tournament in Las Vegas was none other then Dwight Howard. I heard the same story from another person, McGillis tried to block his dunk and was way up above the rim but Howard dunked right over him.

McGillis is a borderline D1 player, will not make an immediate impact anywhere he goes. Not quick enough, not good enough ball handler, not good enough shooter to be a impact player. Go ahead and quote me all his shooting percentages but I would love to see him shoot that well against longer, quicker, more athletic defenders that he will face from outside MT. He hasn't proved himself against anybody that is comparible to him athletically. However, if he continues to improve as dramatically as he did over the past year I can see him becoming a good above average player at a mid-major.

I will definitely change that, mark my words. I've been thinking about making that change after watching McGillis this year anyway....maybe I should challenge him to a contest to test explosiveness. I'll sell tickets and we can hold the event at the Adams Center. Anyone interested???

McGillis will transition just fine to D1 ball. He's an amazing athlete, has a good head, is a team player, and thrives off of doubters. He will be successful.

Just to put it on here, Kellen Hasquet of Sentinel was also on Scout.com. He was listed as a 2 star, while McGillis was a 1 star. Comments?

I have talked with Greg Hicks. Greg rated the players. Greg has saw Kellen play last
summer and thought he was a two star. He was a little worried that Kellen was not quick
enough to play the Small Forward position so originally listed him as power forward. He
took some flack over that and I have not checked to see if that has changed. Hicks has
never seen McGillis play and only found out about him though some diligent work of a
few Montana McGillis fans. Furthermore he really had no interest in doing the little
blurb, until "someone" bugged the hell out of him and sent him a copy of Missoulian
article that appeared just about time of the state tourney. By the way that same
"someone" (and he is a wonderful guy) has talked with two Rivals guy on many
occasions, both have promised to give McGillis a ring, and nothing. You have no idea
how tough it is to get the Internet guy's to give Montana kids a little pub.

If I were to give you two athletes that I think McGillis translates in terms of our knowledge in recent history...I think that it would be Matt Sidensticker and a shorter version of Brent Cummings. Both excellent athletes in highschool that lit up high light reels.

Matt Sidensticker was one of the most amazing highlight players that I got to see. I don't know that McGillis has near the verticle but I can tell you that I would give McGillis a similar chance to suceeding at the D1 like Stick did. He has a similar build to that of Cummings, maybe a bit thicker but sort of does everything well but not great like Cummings did.

He is a far more accomplished player than the player the UofM last recruited from Hellgate, Jeff Hayes. Both have been taught quite well and are incredibly fundamentally sound. McGillis won't hurt you on the floor. He has the basketball knowledge of a Mike Warhank.

I honestly don't believe the Griz can go wrong by bringing McGillis into the program if he wants to play there. If he goes to a school like Santa Clara, Utah State great, good for him, but I really don't want to lose the kid to an inconference program like the Cats.

yeah, that is what I meant...scary that I am educating tommorrows leaders...terrifying...thank god I am only in Simms and not at Hellgate High School or something...
