It's time to show some love to Coach K

In one year coach Hynson goes from a position coach to the main man calling the offense. Not only does he have to clean up the mess Rosenbach left but he also is charged with scrapping the old system and creating a new one. Most importantly he and the other offensive coaches have to teach it and convince the players to believe in it. Not an easy task especially in a program that didn't know who their QB was going to be going into 2013. The result is a 10-2 record and most likely a first round bye. I'd say that's pretty a spectacular outcome given where this team was a year ago! Thanks to Coach K and all the Griz coaching staff for their hard work and dedication. Griz Nation should be very proud!

UMMM, don't you have to score more points than the other team to win a game??? I'm pretty certain the OFFENSE outscored Montana state by two touchdowns. THE GRIZ DEFENSE was great today no doubt, but the MONTANA GRIZZLIES won the game today.

If you are trying to misunderstand my point, you 100% succeeded. UM scored 28. The offense today did the sufficient job, but left "available" points on the field. The defense did a great job today against a good offense, and kept UM alive all day long.

I agree, D set the tone today-some of our talent really started to show the potential. Shutting cats down allowed our O time to find their game. The TD the cat's O scored was aided by 2 questionable 15yd calls. Almost a goose egg for the D. Congrats to all the coaches-most complete game this year. It was nice to see JJ back in a rhythm-he would have made a lot OCs look good today.

One thing I wish he'd do less of is run the fecking ball on the edges.. our WRs are poor blockers in the flat and our tackles don't contain that well. It's maddening to watch the same toss or stretch runs go for negative yards. OL play kept Jordan Johnson upright today, but our insistence on being a power rushing attack without the offensive line to do so is tough. I feel like the offense does just enough to win. A lot of reliance on Henderson deep too. Little things like this will get us through conference play, but trouble in the post season. Definitely nice to have Van back today though.

I think this is one of the most complete receiving cores we've ever had. The only other core that compares was Mariani, Palmer, sambrano but I think this core is more complete so I'm a huge fan of a passing attack. We have great possession receivers and Henderson as a great deep threat.

+1... the "D" dictated how the game was played yesterday. They really knocked the piss out of the scats. I was really into them after the "save" on the blocked punt. :egriz:

With the talent we have at both receiver and running backs there is no reason we need to dedicate to the run first mentality. Sure if you get the run going then that sets up the pass but does it not work that the pass can also set up the run. Especially when you see teams stacking the box just like yesterday. Only after a few passes did they back off and then Jordan had some room to run..
10-2 yes :thumb: :thumb:
I think we have the Defense to go deep in the playoffs if not to Frisco but our offense still scares me with the slow starts. We have an offense that can also take us to Frisco especially if they can get going for all four quarters.
I do love this team!!!!
Heart is huge!!!

Great post.

If we were undefeated a lot of posters on here would criticize the coaches for something. Apparently we just can't enjoy the game for what it is and the coaches and players for what they accomplished. How quickly we forget last year. There are not many teams in all of football that are undefeated but I guess they are the only ones to have great coaches and if they lose a game or two next year they must have forgotten how to coach. I am tired of stubbins (and others) constant criticism of this staff and Grizzly football. That guy has no clue and has never played. Do I agree with every call? No! Do I know the talent of every player we have? No! Have I spent hours and hours in the film room preparing the game plan? No! Neither has he or the rest of these complainers. Just read the first few pages of the game thread and it makes you sick. These are not fans but negative nellies. We are here to support the team and the staff but it doesn't show anywhere.

Congratulations to the staff and the players for a great year. This tent could have been folded early but they found a way and willed us to a very successful season.

Turn about is fair play. Last year the coaches were castigated in some quarters (this one?) with a real emphasis on the win/loss record when there was a lot to say about how each loss occurred. They are 10-2. Lets enjoy it and give the credit where it is due. The staff brought pride and success back to a reeling program in one year. Thanks to them.

I guess I don 't understand why so many people seem to feel that to be a fan of a team that you always have to be positive. Being passionate is the essence of being a fan and passion runs hot AND cold. I know I experience the full gamut of emotions most games and the only difference is that I don't post what I am feeling at any given moment for the world to see but that doesn't mean the thoughts don't run through my head at times. I would say that anyone who only thinks positive thoughts is not much of a fan.

All those long passes that fans bitched about all season? They set up both the running and short passing game.

I don't care about people bitching, but I think you have to let the game play out a little and not bitch about every series.
