It's not just UM...

Yeah, and obviously, being the classy members they are, they neatly pull the mosquito netting up into the rafters. Take note, SuckSt.

I wonder if they will host.

They seem a bit too parasitic to do the right thing and give it to the runners-up. But this ultimately won't be much worse than a few years ago when the tourney was at Buttlair-Handcock. Remember that?

I was at every game of that tournament. UNC did a good job, and the atmosphere was better than I expected. The biggest problem was NAU and the GRIZ getting whistled every time a defender even breathed on Beitzel. Sad part was, NAU got hosed more than the GRIZ did. Very impartial officiating that tournament.

Yeah, that sucked something awful.

There are four full size courts with great lighting.

At which hoop do you shoot? Are they going to cancel the camps and stuff going on behind the curtains, or are they going for economies of scale with this thing?

Wait, I think I have it. This is a two court setup in the above picture. One goes N-S, the other E-W. Are they playing two games at once? That could actually be very interesting.

Based on what I read, they are planning to bring in a portable basketball floor (all NBA teams have portable basketball floors) which will sit on top of the floor you seen in the picture of the Well. They are planning to bring in the extra set of stanchions from the Sacramento Kings. And they'll have temporary seating around the temporary floor. I don't know what type of temporary seating, but I imagine it will look similar to this

http://www.seatingsolutions.com/rentals/innovations-options-accessories/dropin-signage-panel/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I'm only guessing on the seating though.

The author of this article is incorrect. SAC may clinch the hosting privilege before UM and MSU even take the court. If SAC goes 1-1 this weekend, whatever anyone else does is irrelevant. I think that the players and fans will be extremely surprised and pleased with the venue SAC is prepared to put together for this event if we host. The players will love it and it will show very well on TV.

No, we get that it's a beautiful rec center. It is, and something Sac should be proud of. But where are they going to put the fans? Do they have to lean over the railing from the track?? Will they use folding chairs??

If this happens (I still don't think it will; sac loses both games this weekend), the bsc had better mandate that sac doesn't get anymore practice time on that floor than any other team. Because I promise you that floor will be hollow, with dead spots galore. To provide that kind of competitive advantage to the home team because they couldn't play in an actual gym would be downright ridiculous.

Which is almost certainly why the bsc will allow it....

You're going to see something like this setup when the Kings played outdoors if SAC hosts...

Might as well play outside! ESPN would go nuts, great exposure and it'll be 75 degrees!

Might as well. Hell, the entire tournament is the nation's laughing stock already.

In fact, not only should we play it outdoors, but we should require teams to play in ski boots. And 1970s tie-dyed shirts. Maybe with 1 of the 5 players blindfolded! Or riding donkeys!!! Yeah, that's it!! Now we're really getting some ideas to give the BSC the attention and respect it deserves!!

If you're so confident that the Griz will still host, why are you letting yourself get so upset about this?

HA! I'm far from upset.

Quite the contrary, actually. I'm in a no-lose situation. If the GRIZ host, the nation sees a great and passionate fan base in a top-quality facility, supporting a program with a long and proud BB history.

If sac hosts, the bsc and sac gets exactly what they deserve: ridicule.

Either way, UM is one step closer to leaving his joke of a conference. Upset? More like damn near so happy I could pee.

Well, we're all hoping this lights a fire under the SAC community to move an arena forward...

I've always wanted to see a game where one hoop is at 7 ft. and the other is at 13 ft., each player gets one free tackle, and there is a 5 point line. Make this happen.

Awesome, so we can play all of the qtr final games at the same time, 20 minute running clocks, first one to 50 wins...

At 7pm its time for rec league open gym so whichever BSC team is ahead at that point wins...

 I like it. If it works like expected we could roll this out for the ncaa tournament when it expands to 128 teams. I would love to see Tru Tv try to cover that. Doesn't WA State High school tournament run 2 games at the same time in the Tacoma Dome?

I'm sure the networks would love it, one camera angle, you could watch all 4 games at the same time. Every 5 minutes they could tell us with big sky team is skins, which is shirts...

WA high school tourneys do run 2 courts for most divisions in the early rounds, they probably do a better job than the Big Sky would...

Ha! And watch out for Steve "Nails" Blakely, small forward for last year's Sac Rec League Champs, the "Arden Way Aardvarks." Nails is 41, but he still thinks it's senior year over at Mira Loma High. All he needed was one scout! One scout, to take notice that he was a hustle guy. He brought the intangibles that didn't show up on the stat sheet. Sure he played below the rim, but he had a high basketball IQ, he was crafty, he wasn't afraid of sacrificing his body to draw a foul, and that last season at Mira Loma, he provided a huge spark off the bench. You'll know him from his Justache and various knee and elbow braces/pads. Win your first BSC Conference Tournament game, and Steve will likely want to "shoot for the court," meaning you will have to endure him short-arming 3-balls from NBA range for 20 minutes before he gets all pissed off and kicks the quarter panel on his IROC-Z before going home to yell at his wife and watch Brian Cardinal game film.

CDA, that is just pure awesomeness.

I don't know for sure but I think we can't use it all year as it is a student rec area, designated for student recreation only. I believe the student body government had to approve the use of the Well for this tournament or something like that......Kadeezy or SD Hornet would know the answer.

Correct, this is a student only venue with a special exception being made for the BSC Tournament if we host.
Yup. Students approved the Well AND an events center and only one was built.

And where is that exactly?

Big West?

Mountain West?

I guess the WAC always has openings. :thumb:
