It's just as well that this was the last home game

because that locker room is going to need a fresh coat of paint. I don't know if the coaching staff blistered the paint off the walls, but whatever they did, it worked.

Special teams were the big winners today. The defense also played very well. The offense, well, it's not great, but they guys made some big plays when they had to.

Next week is going to be a battle. Go Griz!!

We still lack a real running game. In many games this season, we have had very few rushing yards at halftime, with our running game being almost totally ineffective. Then, as the defense of our opponent wears-down in the second half, we are able to generate a few good running plays, as Childs did on Saturday. But against a really good team like NDSU, if we can not run the ball early in the game, and become one-dimensional, it could be a long game.

Yes, the run game is not great. But on the other hand, SEMO has one of the best rushing defenses in the country. Very much a case of an immovable object vs a stoppable force.

I liked that in the second half the offense did not force the run over and over and over...they used what works and it worked to perfection.

You are exactly right. Tired of the obligatory ‘We must run it up the middle’ even when we’re getting nothing out of it.

As to the title of this thread, tough task but go beat the buffaloes and with a lucky break the Grizzlies could have another home game.

Last night the run game was open. We didn’t take advantage early and kept getting ourselves in third and long in the first half. Doesn’t help when your QB 1 is hesitant due to a lingering injury and your RB 1 isn’t really healthy enough to hold the ball.

However, it was nice to see the ball go to some of the playmakers in the second half with the season on the line. We had some dude’s step up, as we knew they could.

There is a slight chance it wasn't the last home game

A UM win
and
A SE Louisiana Win probably nets a round 3 game in Missoula

Funny thing is, without the scoop and score, the score is 34-17 and exactly what I predicted. I just never figured we’d spot them a 17-0 lead.

The run was, in fact, NOT open. 13 carries for 9 total yards in the first half. Including 4 carries for -4 yards in the 2nd quarter. Rosey woke the fuck up at halftime and passed passed passed until they HAD to respect it, THEN the run opened up late in the game.

Ah, is that right? Well, better get busy on that locker room.
