It Doesn't Have to Take 4-5 Years

Scott Frost at UCF, from winless to unbeaten in two years. A guy with no head coaching experience.

Getting a 7-4 team back to the top should not be as hard. I'm not buying the claims we will go down before we go back up. There are obvious fixes to most of the problems the previous coach could not see.

This is worthless example that doesn’t prove anything. College football is littered with examples of coaches that seemingly turned around programs in their first year or two only to fail in down the road.

Gene Chizik had Auburn doing great in his 2nd year, (14-0), but by year 4 couldn’t win a game in conference and was fired.

Brady Hoke started hot with the bichigan winning 11 games, but by year 4 had a losing season and fans couldn't wait to get rid of him

Jim Mora looked like a genius when he had back to back 10 win seasons in years 2 and 3, but faded after that was just fired.

So initial success doesn’t mean a coach has turned a program around.

It seems to be more difficult to sustain programs in the modern age. I'm not sure a Bear Bryant, Ara Parseghian, Joe Paterno, etc could do so either in this day and age. The win for me now mentality has really changed the coaching game in college. Various factors, the rise of ESPN and cable television, the huge amounts of money being made, and even Social networking, have all attributed.

Dude, I love bacon so much. I bought like $30 worth of pork bellies at Costco (always Costco) today to run through the slicer. Gonna be a great holiday season.

When I was in Oklahoma working, they had this bacon they called Arkie Bacon - big thick slabs of bacon, sort of hybrid with ham. Awesome stuff.....damn I miss that stuff.

I DONT KNOW YOU and have every right to feel threatened and creeped out when you make personal comments about myself and my family.

Nice....is that why you posted a bounty on me tonight on Maroonblood in their 37 club? As I said earlier, at the beginning of this thread.....let it go, and move on. Stitt is gone, and bashing his recruits, over and over again is ridiculous.

How many dominate programs are there at this level? Tough to compare Alabama, Penn State, USC, Ohio State, Miami etc...to NDSU, JMU, Montana.
