ISU Thoughts

Guys! Guys! Why try to distort what happened on Sat. Pushing-kicking-grabbing!?!?!?!?! It happens in games. Just like Slick Willy was having a little somthing on the side with Lewinski (he was still the President) Just because the Bengals and the Grizz were having a few elbows thrown (The Bengals still Won). Why Try to change , twist, distort the outcome?

It happens with about 2 minutes left in the first half....it's hard to see on the actual play, but you can see it on the replay when Altitude shows the baseline camera angle.

My point is Slim didn't commit a dirty play by pushing off on his head. Criswell looks to kick Slim, but if I suppose you could argue it was just them rolling to the ground, but it looked to me and the newsmedia people that I saw the tape with that he kicks him.

Regardless, the point is that Slim didn't do what Argh said.

I take it very personal on what Slim did for a very good reason.

You said yourself that Slim put his hand on Kevin's head and pushed up. THAT'S THE SAME EXACT FRIGGIN' THING I'M SAYING!!!!

I strongly suggest you stop posting on this subject BBB. Like I said, its a personal issue for me and I'm not about to start taking this lightly. You are insulting me by misconstruing the story about Kevin and I do not appreciate it one bit.

BBB, you also need to stop defending Slim because it really isn't doing much for your reputation. As far as I can tell up to this point, you yourself just might have a worse attitude than Slim.

The play I'm talking about actually happened in the 2nd half. Although I don't have the game on tape to replay over and over to re-create my perception though. As a matter of fact, both cheapshots I'm thinking about happened in the 2nd half. It's funny how Slim gets to be a dirtier and dirtier player as they get more and more of a lead. Probably for the best it doesn't happen very often.

Why am I not suprised that ISU fans are playing up the unsportsmanlike roles. Its very fitting that a dirty team has dirty fans.

I know that this is getting beyond what it should be, but here's my point:

I can handle losing, and I can handle losing to teams when they are cocky about it. Shoot, I could handle losing to MSU last year both time during the regular season. What I don't have any patience for is when a team plays in a dirty fashion - and then have to hear that Montana was the dirty team. I'm not about to let that fly, especially when cheapshots were thrown at Montana players.

I am in full support of the rats position.

It is what it is Gym Rat! You saw cheap shots and we saw cheap shots. Both teams!?! Lets say we are both right and we are both wrong. Let's leave it at that. Glad no one got hurt but a little pride. GO BENGALS!

I'm sorry Bengal00...its past that now.

As far as I'm concerned, there should be no compromise on a Griz board. If you want to go talk about this on a Bengal board, then that's fine. But don't expect me to change my stance. I might be a little proud, but there's no way I'm letting a couple of ISU fans come in, take some shots and get out that easy.

I'm sticking to my guns on this one guys. :guns:

i was referring to a 2nd half play as well, regarding slim's face slam. the 2nd half is when slim really got going with the cheap stuff.

now, if you want to talk about what was impressive with the bengals, it was their defense and that short dude raining big 3 pointers. the griz looked fine until 'the incident', then looked slow-footed, and played crap defense. i never said they shouldn't have won, and i haven't commented on the refs one way or other. all of that was overwhelmed by the cheap, low brow game the bengals (especially millien) played. 'twasn't basketball. it was just ugly and no fun. i always clap for a good play by whatever team makes one, but it was mighty hard to appreciate the good plays the bengals did make, such was the distraction of slim.

and somebody, somewhere needs to look more closely at the clobbering criswell took just prior to the grounding of the klingon. i know criswell plays rough, but he doesn't play cheap, at least as far as i can tell. and i'm not saying this because he's a griz, i've seen way too much cheap play by the griz lately (fb) to consider any team in the bsc worse than the hauck-led gridders (at this point in time).

good luck to the bengals for the rest of the season, but i'm not going to waste my time walking the three blocks it takes to go watch their games anymore this season. millien and his ilk don't play hoops, and they sure wouldn't survive long if other teams were able to respond with a justifiable level of retaliation, without suspensions, or oliver saving slim's butt.

i'll surely continue to cheer for the spud footballers, and probably the hoopsters when they get a different coach. but for now, i'll stick to the former and hope the latter doesn't even make the bsc tourney.

ok enough of this subject...

Thanks for the words argh.

I seriously do hope the best for the BSC teams - their success helps out the conference and in turn Montana. I think ISU has a lot of good things going for them and they have a nice solid team. Look at what they showed that 2nd half for example! They don't need Millien for that type of play though, and I think he hurts that team more than helps, imo.

The ugliest part of this game obviously, wasn't the Dlouhy/Kinghorn, but instead the dirty play that followed. That's what keeps getting discussed, so I tend to agree with argh's comments and hope that ISU gets past this and puts out a product that Argh! can have fun watching in the future.

This story keeps getting bigger and badder. The next thing you know Criswell will have pulled and knife, and Slim had to shoot him in self defense. :werd:

then it would have got real interesting as the football players in the stands would have been torn between their hatred for the griz, or their hatred for their basketball team. i think it would come out in the grizs favor because there is no way that the isu football players hate um's BASKETBALL team more than their own. seeya isu! :thumb:

I'm sorry, I watched the entire second half just staring at Slim....he never pushes on Criswell's head.

I also shouldn't be surprised that you STILL can't figure out what I wrote...Slim had his hand on the ground to the left of Criswell's head. His hands never touched Criswell. Kevin's foot however kicks Millien. Appartently, that's fine if you are a Grizzly.

Bottom line, someone finnaly didn't back down from the vaunted Griz. If the rest of the league would take that attitude and not cower, life would be better.

Good luck in the tourney...I'm just hoping we can get there.

Maybe we should just push this whole thing to rest because there is two sides to each story, and ISU fans are not going to agree with us and we arent going to agree with ISU fans. Lets just leave it at ISU won the game and we need to move on because on saturday we got the Cats....

Bigger fish to fry than lowly ISU

Give me a break

Dloughy nearly breaks a kids neck but that worst part was the elbow? Typical Montana BS. How can you guys be so blind? How can you be so stupid and try to justify Dloughy's cheap shot? Owe sorry it wasn't a dirty his fingers got tangled in his shirt.

bhumble - Have you watched that play more than once? It was pretty obvious to me that Dlouhy didn't see Kinghorn (Screened by another ISU player), and grabbed his shirt BEFORE Kinghorn jumped. Dlouhy I'm sure had no intention of Kinghorn ending up on the ground, or hurting Kinghorn. That was nothing more than a intentional foul (which is what it was called by the officials). Obviously Dlouhy was attempting to foul Kinghorn to stop him from making a easy basket. It was in no way a dirty play or a cheap shot.

The 2 things I didn't like were 1)that when Dlouhy had a hold of Kinghorn's jersey he could have let go and he didn't and 2)he didn't go immediately to Kinghorn to see if he was OK after the nasty spill. That's what made the play dirty to me. Just my opinion.

I watched that particular play yet again on the Coach K show last night, and Dlouhy sure as hell did show concern and was bent over Kinghorn immediately following Kinghorn hitting the ground. I suggest you watch it again before you think that it was dirty, or a cheap shot, and that Dlouhy meant to hurt anyone.. And again, when Dlouhy got ahold of his jersy, he was on the ground, not in the air. Also (again not saying the reffing cost us the game) they really should've called a foul on ISU before that play even happened when Criswell was completely killed by a ISU player. If the refs could've peeked out of their own asses long enough to see Criswell get killed underneath while trying to get a rebound, this whole thing would've never happened :/

Keep scrambling BBB. You're not gonna see this incident because it wasn't on TV. I specifically asked about it from a friend since you obviously were going to check on it.

A few more idiotic posts from you and you'll officially be a dirtbag. Congratulations!

Maybe you can check the game again to see if that happened.

And bhumble...Dexter X took care of you. Now learn from your forum name.
