ISU Thoughts

Argh, I watched the tape and "klingon" (your words) was not seen anywhere on the tape taking "violent" cheap shots at Criswell. However, I did see a certain number 11 (who was screened off the play) grab Kinghorn's jersey. Any interpretation should be left to impartial viewers.

:naughty:

BBB - Thanks for the good wishes. I also like a lot of the players on ISU's team and I feel that they have a lot of the good homegrown players that really make a solid team.

I just don't have any respect for Millien and I will continue to think that he's a dirty player from what I've seen from him. I have to disagree when you say that he's just playing hard. If that was the case, Oliver wouldn't have to take him out when he's about to get into it with a player. As I said earlier, there's a reason why a talented ball player from Queens wound up in Pocatello. I also can't understand why anybody would stick up for him. I guarantee he's got nobody's back except for his own. :twocents:

And no. I would not push off of a player's face. That's a dirty cheapshot after the play is over. I guarantee you that 99% of the ball player would not do that. To even insinuate that Criswell or Krysko or anyone would do that is insulting. And it gives an idea of why you might think Slim isn't a dirty player.

That was extremely low and I think Millien deserves a suspension for his antics more than Dlouhy does for his.

Shahan,
During Criswell's redshirt year, you could often find him playing at the rec annex with the normal college students. The guy was gym rat that year and was also working on his game. In fact a couple of his Colstrip buddies were friends of mine and from the times I was around him, he seemed like a good guy.

I have never once said, nor will I ever say anything bad about Criswell. If you read my post carefully I didn't criticiize him. By saying he gives as good as gets, it means that he stood up to any trash-talking and physical play and wouldn't back down, which in my book is a compliment.

As far as my athletic background, it's not as devoid as you might think it is.

Seven, the shot about the athleticism wasnt directed towards you. Sorry I didnt move that down a little. What I was saying was how people get on here and try and judge these college athletes, when a fair share of them never played college ball themselves. :twocents:

As far as Kevin's play, when you look at what he deals with every time he comes onto the floor, you see why he has that mentality. And I agree with you 100% that that is a great attribute to have, to not back down. I dont think there is a single player in the BSC that plays harder then he does day in and day out.

The one thing I am glad about, is that barring some sort of miracle, we will not have to play ISU again this season. Those two teams need a good amount of time away from eachother to let that one cool off. It should be put in that past, to be gone forever, but we all know it will not be. We can all just hope that "Kinghorn"(sp) is alright and will finish out the season strong.

Believe me Shahan, I too agree with you about some peoples motives or backgrounds when posting.

I'll never forget when Don Holst told me about Criswell and how competitive he was as a redshirt in practice. UM had a pretty good team that year with some big guys and he said Criswell was simply unafraid of any of them.

I still think the Griz can win the tournament. People are panicking a little. ISU despite its record, lost on last second shots to NAU and Sac State and played UM down to the wire at home. They are a good team, especially at home. A loss to ISU in Reed Gym isn't as hurtful as it may seem. NAU after losing in Cheney could very easily both on the Montana trip, which I think is the toughest road trip in the Big Sky.

I also think any team going into Weber will have a tough time. Unfortunately, I think NAU may still win the league and ISU might not make the tournament, which means I won't be able to go cover it for work, but stranger things can and have happened in the Big Sky.

Hey Gym Rat, I slept on it and I think it sunk in through my thick skull that we played your boys like a fiddle. And to you slick willy or willy??? Yea, you do have a better record BUT we opened a can of Whoop A on your boys and showed just how over rated you really are. I agree totally with Bengal Backer. We shoved back that night and we were not going to cower down and let you fellas try to intimidate us. It isn't gonna work and it never will. Thuggery?? What about the FB player that called me a MF when he was walking into the Dome getting off the bus? He felt real safe around his crew and he said it just low enough so the coach didn't hear him but if he was left alone he would have wilted like a flower under a blow dryer. What about the guy from UM that was walking through our tailgating with a golf club on his shoulder? Thug? NO, he was playing miniture golf right!?! Again I will say What goes around comes around and you guys got it back 10 fold. We flat put it back in your face. GO BENGALS!!!

Let me see if I got this right. You were gonna kick one of our players asses? You must really be a badass huh? Wow, very impressive. OK Aesop. :dope:

is bengal 12 years old, who hasn't been called an MF before, oh yah and my dad can beat up your dad, grow up.

oh yah and can we quit hearing about what football players have done, this is a basketball post and I really don't care if a guy got hit in the nuts in a football game, i'm sure that only happens 15 times a game under piles, good eyes tho, you should be a eye doctor when you grow up

 Wow. It took you all night to come up with that post Bengal00?

I tell you what. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and pretend like you never even posted it. :thumb:

How ironic sd griz. I do want to become an eye doctor and yea my dad can beat up your dad because he is tough. I told my teacher that I want to change my name to sdgriz1 but she said that everyone would laugh at me and call me names so i decided not to. oh well, the Bengals still beat the grizz and you can't change that. Get a grip son, Why do you want to skirt around the main points of interest here. My whole point is that you guys are the same when we go there. What's the big deal. Just face that you lost and you can't imtimidate us like you guys try to do all the time. Cheap shots in every sport and on every team.

As far as the acting by Kinghorn goes, I spoke with him last night and he has a pretty bad concussion and can't remember much of what happened during the game. I'm all for fouling a guy hard to stop him from scoring. That's part of basketball. The 2 things I didn't like were 1)that when Dlouhy had a hold of Kinghorn's jersey he could have let go and he didn't and 2)he didn't go immediately to Kinghorn to see if he was OK after the nasty spill. That's what made the play dirty to me. Just my opinion.

i could be wrong but im pretty sure dlouhy was the first guy there after the fall. he extended his hand out right after the dude hit the floor. obviously some isu players took exception to the foul, and got between dlouhy and the guy on the floor. but he definitely showed remorse right away.

Just like I said in the Smack forum. This game was Idaho State's highlight of the season. It was just another tough road game for the Griz. I'll take our situation over ISU's anytime.

Bengal00 is not helping the cause here. That being said, I need to defend something on Slim.

On the play in question (about 2:00 left in the first half), Slim blocks Criswell's shot. Criswell then CLEARLY on the Altitude end zone camera replay grabs Millien's shirt and pulls him down. As they are going down, Criswell clearly kicks Millien in the leg. Slim puts his right hand to the left of Kevin's head, and the left arm on the ground next to Criswell's torso. Slim then pushes up and tries to run down court.

As this occurs, Criswell knees up and nearly gets Slim in the family jewels, but instead knees the back of his thigh. Slim NEVER pushes off on Kevin's head. It is very clrea on the tape that Criswell kicks Slim. The knee thing could be a natural reaction to protecting oneself, but he definately kicks Slim.

I just want to repeat, on that play that Aargh I believe says Slim smushes Kevin's head in the ground doesn't happen...it just doesn't.

FYI, Millien ended up at ISU because he went to Junior College in the west, and he is like a 3.1 student. Just an FYI.

Of course, if he attended Eastern, that would make him like a 4.0 student (BA-ZING!!!!!)

You said that he puts his hand on Kevin's head and pushes to get up. Then you say that he doesn't push on his head?

I'm sorry. You're really pissing me off BBB. I'm going to have to just ignore your posts because they contradict themselves.

You really need to stop on this subject. :deadhorse:

You do not need to defend anything about Slim. He's proven himself as a dirty player. Simple as that.

I didn't contridict myself MGR....

"Slim puts his right hand to the left of Kevin's head, and the left arm on the ground next to Criswell's torso. Slim then pushes up and tries to run down court."

That's what happened. Listen I'm sorry you think Slim is a dirty player, but what I'm saying is that on the play in question, Slim doesn't do any of the things you said he did.

Criswell does kick Slim...it's on tape dude. Seriously, that's all I'm saying. I'm sorry if facts are getting in the way of the argument for you.

This story keeps getting bigger and badder. The next thing you know Criswell will have pulled and knife, and Slim had to shoot him in self defense. :werd:
