Idaho State 2015 schedule
Sept. 5: vs. Black Hills State (Win DNC)
Sept. 12: vs. Portland State (L)
Sept. 18: at Boise State
Sept. 26: at UNLV
Oct. 3: at Cal Poly
Oct. 10: at North Dakota
Oct. 17: vs. Eastern Washington
Oct. 24: at Sacramento State
Nov. 7: vs. Montana
Nov. 14: vs. Montana State
Nov. 21: at Weber State

Whoever scheduled this for ISU should be fired NOW!!! Two games into the season and their playoff hopes are pretty much shot.

Dont they realize you need 7 FBS wins to get into the playoffs?

By sched Black Hills State, BSU and UNLV, the Gals only have 8 FCS games and the just lost to PSU. So they pretty much have to run the FBS table and be the BSC champ, Both of those seem out of reach 2 flippin games into 2015.

ISU won't beat UNLV this year. Last year, possibly. Boise State will rock ISU, and the Bengals will also likely lose to Cal Poly, and at UND is a real possibility too. I've said for months, ISU was an enigma last year and while it was a good season, the Bengals got way, way too much hype this summer. A bad defense and the loss of Arias puts them right back to being a mediocre football team at best.

What scares me is, by the time they play the Griz and Cats, they will be in spoiler mode.

A lot of people did not, and do not, seem to recognize just how important Arias was to last year's team and its success. Although I do not recall that he got much attention at the pro level, he was a sound college-level QB and a terrific leader. From all the rumbles out of Pocatello, part of their problem is that they still can't figure out who is going to replace him ... and the answer may be "nobody."

You right, it's not a rule anymore, but it will bite you if you're a bubble team. But I think ISU will struggle mightily to get to 7 DI wins regardless. 2 FBS losses coming and the way Cal Poly's defense is playing, they'll destroy ISU.

Watched the game last night and IF that is the best offensive line Kramer has ever had!! ISU is not
in a good place!

They are gonna struggle mightily to get to 3 D-1 wins.

Aside from BHS, I love their schedule. At least they are playing real football teams in which most cases should be great games (I know we're talking about ISU) and not trying to pussyfoot their way through the season and into the playoffs. I wish we'd have schedules like this...not saying this year's schedule has anything wrong with it...more often rather than scheduling DII teams all the time.

Why would you want to schedule yourself out of the playoffs? Though ISU was overrated from the get go imo, and probably isn't a playoff caliber team anyway, I think Payton is right, a DII and two FBS really doesn't get you anywhere. I would much rather play top tier FCS teams that count towards playoffs with possibly an FBS game mixed in. Our schedule this year is great and looks like some good scheduling going on in the future. I think there is alot to be said about playing competitive games, finishing with a good record and making the playoff in terms of program success, recruiting, etc.

Didn't say not to schedule top tier FCS teams. My point, since it went straight over your head (or maybe it bounced off your thick skull), was that I'd much rather see a tough schedule than a cupcake schedule. The point would be to beat those tough teams and earn your way to the playoffs. To be the best you gotta beat the best.

My thick skull? What exactly in my post brought that on? Or are you just trying to emulate Atl? Again, in my apparently crazy and upsetting opinion, Idaho State basically scheduled themselves out of the playoffs. Have a great day!

In an 11 game year, I think 3 FCS OOC games is the way to go if you can manage it. If not, one FBS payday and 2 solid FCS games.

But one bad DII and two FBS games, only one of which you have a decent chance to win, is not a good recipe for a playoff bid.
