ISU AD placed on leave

“Jeff Tingey’s removal was not over any scandal or violation, but was about changing the direction of the athletic department,” ISU President Kevin Satterlee told the Journal on Tuesday.

As I suspected, there was no scandal involving Tingey, just a desire to go a different direction. ISU will conduct a national search.

Odd

Extremely. And bad timing after UI. If you're going to pay him, reassign him to raking up the leaves on campus.

Hell, just leave his as the AD, but give him absoluteliy no responsibilities. Put him in an office with a phone that never rings, and nothing on the desk. You can only count your paperclips so many times. Maybe he'll quit and save the state a few potatoes.

If you really want to get rid of the guy put him in charge of cleaning Phenicie's taint scratcher collection.

And what does a desire to go in a different direction mean at ISU? Playing .500 ball?

At UM, it meant going down hill to eventually lose to the Cats and miss the playoffs two years in a row. So, note that there are two directions, up and down. Not all college presidents seem to be versed in this. Some seem to confuse whether the program should go up or down, or sideways.

Different direction from sucking in all “revenue” sports? No AD since Dubby has been able to pull that off.

Ask Coach Ron Ash, he wrote the book on playing .500 ball.

Who was Idaho State's most famous AD? I can only name one ever, but he HAS to be the answer.

I think you might want to redo that one, overall record at msu was 70-38 and 50-23 in conference so hardly .500 ball.
