I Think you need to hold off on ignorant questions like this until next year this time... dang
I would LOVE to hear your backup for that ridiculous statement. SIX O-linemen with schollies? GFAFB.
Yeah @azgrizfan I sort of had a hard time to track down information to this comment in a few games this year by commentators, as I don't have the insight or smarts of Bwhalberg, but this is what I based off of as some evidence of this recruiting technique by Stitt:
2016 signing day: https://missoulian.com/sports/colle...cle_27b13d06-2507-5dd2-bb3e-ae7710377b2f.html
2017 signing day: https://missoulian.com/sports/colle...cle_fd1eaa71-9b39-5747-a019-327beaba4f13.html
And think you meant to say "GMAFB" :thumb: Unless You meant "Griz Football Are F**'n Beasts" :?

yeah, can't wait for the discussions about how some other coach would've done.
*edit* - not counting the ones that have already been made about how much more fire, grit, focus and determination this team has compared to, say, last year's. as evidenced by last saturday, especially.

I agree with this too. HOWEVER, I had a recent conversation with a local business owner who argued the opposite point. His opinion is that Hauck's team was dominant last time he was HC because he inherited Glenn's winning team and left before his own skills (or lack thereof) were apparent. Thoughts?
PlayerRep said:argh! said:the attitude? the toughness that was missing? the i'm-gonna-compete-harder-than-the-other-guy belief that was supposed to be instilled in the players? i really want to know, are we there yet? there were so many "promises" made about the magic of hauck, i lost count. was the swagger visible in that big win over sac state, or maybe cal poly? drake?
also, which win was the big 'signature' type win that the old coaches couldn't manage? uni? drake? sac state? cal poly? please help me out here, those who can see bobby's greatness. where can i find the swagger?
Who promised swagger? Some posters on egriz? Don't think Hauck did. If he did, call it to our attention.
Swagger comes with success and continued success. It doesn't happen overnight, if it ever happens. It often doesn't happen quickly under a new coach, where it wasn't there previously.
If you can see that the Griz are playing harder and more physical this year, than past years, then I can't help you. It's clear to me.
The Griz lost to CP in 2015 and 2016. So, Stitt never beat them. I think I heard that UM hadn't beaten CP on the road since Hauck was last here. So that was a good win, and looked even better when CP beat SS last weekend.
NI was a good win. We'll see how they do the rest of the season. Their losses are to UM, NDSU and Iowa (or St). SS was a nice win.
The 2 losses were unfortunate. It's pretty hard to win games when there have been 4 or 5 turnovers and a punt or punt return disaster.
I didn't see the PSU game, so can't comment specifically there. The ND game on the road will be a big and important test. I have liked what I have seen with the team and Sneed so far (again missed the last game). I am hopeful. But even prior to the PSU loss, it wasn't clear to me how good the Griz were and would be this year. I am hoping they can beat ND and show improvement as the season continues.
He was here for 7 years, and '07-'09 were arguably his best teams. I get that he inherited a nationally elite program in '03, which surely helped in recruiting his guys, but 7 years is a long time for a coach to hang around in college football, especially at the FCS level. There is no way you go 80-17 (or whatever his record was) with great players, but marginal coaching. That's way too big of a sample size to make that claim. Its a different animal this time around, he'll be building a program rather than inheriting one, but to question his coaching skills? That guy is not paying attention.GGNez said:grizare#1 said:Gotta go with this one :thumb:griznation23 said::shock: R U Serious!?! Is this a serious question? What we don’t know is if he can build one.
