Is there a faster player in the Big Sky than???

True enough about Akem's breakaway speed with those long legs, but just look at the length of his arms! His hands seem to hang all the way down below his knees, a good physical trait for a receiver. One of my favorite GRIZ players.

He's a physical freak. His wingspan has to be over 7' and I believe they have to special order XXXXL gloves for him. I just wish he would use that length more to his advantage. I was ripped on here in the spring for calling Sammy a body-catcher. I still stand by that statement although he's improved some in that area. If he can continue to be more of a hands catcher, and high point the ball, his combination of height, length, and speed should get him some serious NFL looks.

Sammy's TD catch against EWU was an excellent example of him better using his length and hands to snatch the ball out of the air.

I'm not saying I believe it....however, someone on egriz, a while back said Mamula was the fastest man on the team for 40 yards, padded up. ????? I believe Flowers is the fastest Griz no matter how one is measured....this team has speed everywhere though....Toure,JLM,Sulser,Roberts,Calhoun,Akem,Nash,Knight,Walker,,,,some that don't play yet, like Owens,Germer,White,Grandy,McGinnis,DeWaters,Turner, all have above average speed....Hauck is really put emphasis on getting better team speed, just take a look at who we are recruiting at running backs for next year.
Sneed is faster than some you mentioned.
\
And some he mentioned are so fast they've out run the folks who write up the roster, cuz I've never even heard of them.

while i miss spelled his name, read and learn ...Grandney is a freshman c/b 6'180 pounds out of billings west....one of the most sought after kids in the state of Montana because of his speed....now, you have heard of him.

Gradney is an excellent athlete. Not really competitive raw speed wise with the faster kids on our team or other teams. I do think there is a difference betwen straight line speed and speed on a football or soccer field. Maybe he is one of those kids that is faster playing football than you would expect from his straight line speed.

Great clip of Sammy pulling away from the PSU safeties. For some additional perspective, #14 was and Oregon 1st team all state 400M runner as a Junior in HS Had an angle on Sammy and he blew by him anyway.

The clip shows the problem defenses have with Montana: The safety was in no-man's land, caught between JLM and Sammy, and not effectively covering either. JLM was also wide open on a deep out to the right, and likely would have scored as well had Cam gone to him.
