Is Simis better than Prokop?

Early word on Vlad is an achilles but JMU hasn't said what the MRI revealed.

Also, I completely agree that Kupp is the best football player in the FCS and it isn't even remotely close. But, the Payton Award, like the Heisman, doesn't always go that way. Let's face it, they are both quarterback awards. Only one WR has ever won the Payton Award, Villanova's Brian Finneran. And the last 11 winners have all been QB's. Hell, a RB hasn't even won it since Brian Westbrook.

The November Cat collapse hasn't happened yet, and honestly, it shouldn't be blamed on Prukop when it happens. Although, it looks like the Cats are excited about starting it early. It seems that Simis is best suited for this offense! Going to PSU and playing partially the way he did against UND will show if it's for real! He had happy feet at the beginning of the game, but settled in as the game went along. It sure seemed like he didn't settle for the short slant (like Gus) or the long pass (like Chalich) all the time! He had better vision! Looked off better! Has quicker feet, and seems to fit into Stitt's offensive scheme better. I'm no coach-unless you count Great Falls 6th grade flag football championship, when I was a freshman in college back in 1985 (which I'm proud of, and if it wasn't for a bunch of kids who did the opposite of what I asked, we would have finished last), but he seemed so relaxed, once he settled in. Dealing with PSU speed will be different, but this could be just what the Griz were looking for all along! I sure hope so!

Is Simis better than Russell Wilson? Seriously though....I've seen some dumb threads in my time here at good ol' eGriz, but holy cow.

Grow up GB: Purposeless graphics that don't move the narrative are nothing more than an adolescent cyber coloring book and crayons. :coffee:
So is starting a thread with the sole purpose of trolling :coffee:

I might have actually tune into the game day thread. What's most likely is that Simis comes flying back to earth in Portland. At the first sign of adversity this retarded place will take him from the next DD to 'this is why he was third string' in a blink of an eye. So here's my question: who is the current 3rd string QB that will be the next coming at the first sign of Simis having a bad play? I honestly don't know who your #3 is now that Stitt puts in wide receivers to finish the garbage time. Help me out.

ABC, to answer your question, even though you're trolling, last week, Lucas WAS the No. 3 behind Simis and Prater. And I know one thing, the one pass he threw was better than ANY pass MSU's backup quarterback threw in Wash-Griz last year.

You are correct though, Simis will be savagely thrown under the Egriz bus at the first sign of trouble at PSU. Well, that, and the "Stitt should have played him more to get him ready" mantra will come out.

Perhaps we give the lad another game or two prior to anointing him. I recall the euphoria following our NDSU win and the back to reality check lasting weeks.

Granted phenomenal start but expectations may be a tad unrealistic. I think it is great for him and likewise that our qb depth has been there at this juncture.

That's simple. Bleskin wasn't our 3rd string. You haven't been paying attention. McQueary torched you guys.

I'm pretty sure that Stitt and co. have put Saturday behind them and are game planning for psu. Simis did what he needed to do......execute the game plan. If he can do that this week end along with the others on the field we come away with a win. It surprises me people are surprised Simis did as well as he did. He's a damn good quarterback with a ton of confidence. He doesn't need to throw 6 touchdowns just execute the game plan. I'm confident he will :thumb:

I posted this on a different thread:

In the words of Aaron Rodgers.....R....E...L...A....X. Simis had a great game and made some great throws and some great decisions. He played a solid game and let his receivers make some plays. I am not ready to anoint him as the best QB ever right now for one reason.....because that is exactly what we all did with Brady after NDSU. After that game, everyone thought Brady darn-near walked on water. He was great and I was excited about his abilities, but coaches and defenses adjusted quickly rendering him less effective pretty quickly. Let's just all relax and see if Simis can bring this type of play each week. If he can do this well at PSU and continue to look the part then we can get a little more excited then. For now, relax. It was ONE game.

7 points ouch! 34-7
He led us to a TD in 100% of his drives. Just like you guys, all our 3rd stringers are better than our starters.

ABC, if you actually READ my post I said, Lucas' pass was better than ANY that MSU's backup QB threw in the game last year. Bleskin was indeed the backup until Friday when Prukop decided a he couldn't go. McQueary's touchdown pass was perhaps one of the most irrelevant TD pass in Cat-Griz history.

Man you guys are on fire tonight.

And by the way I resent you saying I'm trolling. That's actually not possible in utterly ridiculous threads like this. The correct word is 'participating'. Occasionally you guys have threads over here that aren't laughably puerile and I stay out of those. Give me some credit.

Should probably clarify this for you - Simis wasn't 3rd string, he was 1st string, 2nd flight. You have to go all the way to 4th flight to get to a 3rd string on this roster, and he would still be 2nd string for the Cats.
