Is Root Sports from Utah?

Overall, I think the Root Sports coverage has been well done, even though it has decreased my opportunities to watch the Griz play. However, today was kind of a head scratcher. Commentators seemed Weber State focused, bordering on partisan. Didn't seem all that familiar with Griz players, can't pronounce the starting QB's name, everything kind-of described from a Weber state perspective. They could do better. What did others think about today's Root coverage?
What game were you watching? Root Sports coverage is the best thing to happen to the BSC, and they just call the games, if anything they were hard on SSH because they have seen him play much better. I always see the announcers as Pro-Griz.

Glad you liked it. Glad you think it was pro-Griz. I didn't see it that way.

Better picture, more graphics and stats. If I don't like what they are saying the volume can be turned down on the TV and up on the radio. Mick and Gurns are sure to provide pro-Griz comments.

Agree on all three points above, and started the post that originated this thread by saying Root's coverage was well done. Just wanted to hear some opinions on what I thought was the slant of the commentators. I probably would listen to Mick and Gurns if watching at home.

I didn't notice a slant towards Weber but gotta admit I wasn't listening real close since my two little boys were running around being crazy. I'll try to pay more attention next time.

I couldn't hear everything where I was at either, but when I could hear clearly it just seemed kind of Weber-centric and it bugged me that they can't pronounce the starting QB's name right. But hell, people on this board can't seem to deal if a Griz player's name isn't something simple.

I love their coverage. Besides other fan bases may be a little tired of GRIZ and Cats on there. For the viewers that watch weekly, they had to tell us about Weber State. Also they did plug our front 7 more than any other thing in that game. They were constantly praising our front 7.

Like I said in original post, from what I've seen, there coverage is well done. I don't know, maybe too frustrated with the Griz, maybe I got a bad beer. The announcers just seemed to get under my skin. Come to think of it, I guess I remember thinking they got more balanced later in the game.

Would we rather have Hermes back?

Can we get a "hell no"!

mtgrizrule: congrats on 10000 posts..you are this years nominee for eGriz Lifetime Achievement Award. :thumb:

Most those posts were in the Hauck regime. I had time to post between plays and not miss anything. It is impossible to post between plays since Pflu took over, and now Delaney. :thumb:

I go to all the home games and so I don't know if their bias towards the Griz when they're home team. It seems to me that Root comes in early for broadcast does some research on the home team as to make them more knowledgeable which isn't carried over to the road team. I saw that both with the Northern Colorado and Weber games particularly with latter.

For an example when the Griz were trying to run out the clock at the end of the game they were talking about Weber's recruiting in Florida even providing a graphic on the screen. And there were a lot more examples.

I do agree the quality of the presentation is much better(camera work).

I thought KAPAX was out of Missoula and suppose to be slanted as it's feed is not picked up by the other team.
