Is it to early to get some UM/UW game predictions?

Under the ifs, ors and buts category...If quarterback Brett Smith had stayed for his senior year, then I think the Pokes roll. But with a one-start QB and a shaky O line, I'm not so sure. The pundits are saying that Wyoming's defense looks much improved, if so they'll keep the score down but I don't see a lot of production from the offense. We shall see.

Interesting. Both teams have new/untested O-lines. Could be a defensive battle....

17-14 Griz is my prediction. Of course, that necessitates a FG from either Lider, Greenberg or the other guy....

Your 2013 preseason prediction was that neither the Griz or the Cats would win the BSC title outright or share in it. You picked SUU, NAU and EWU to finish above both Montana teams. 2 out of 3 is pretty good.

Interesting thought. As much as I think about this stuff... Now that you mention it, I'll bet you're right. D battle. Good thinkin. I'm stuck with my 35-33 prediction tho. The Versus App has the Griz winning in Wa-Griz AND neutral location. The bad news is it says we lose by 3 in War Memorial. Ugh.

I am not as certain of success as some of you. The Griz have real O line questions and seemingly will be missing a key offensive and special teams guy (potentially All-American Ellis Henderson,) at least early in the season. Add to this a much more difficult schedule than last year and I see a 7-4 or 6-5 season and an early 27-10 loss to Wyoming.

I think we 'll lose, too, but I don't think losing to Wyoming (unless it's 56-0 or something) will negatively impact the rest of our season. Now, if JJ gets injured, that's different.

Honestly, it will all come down to scoring defense. If we can keep the other guys out of the end zone, I think we have enough weapons on offense to score some points.

So what you're saying, Mr. Madden, is that if the guy who scores more points usually wins the game? :lol:

Uh, no. You're missing my point. (Imagine that!)

If your defense is good enough, you don't have to score a bunch of points to win games, and an inexperienced/injury-depleted offensive line might not hurt you all that much. Let me know if you need me to dumb that down a little for you.

I think it will be a lower scoring game but Wyoming will win. I really like their coach and feel that if they are down he will make changes to alter the game and prevail. Our coaches tend not to have that ability. They just play through the game plan that they came with.

Sad but true. Sure hope they improve on that this year. I'll remain optimistic until they show me otherwise.
