...do we seem to have an extraordinary number of freshmen and redshirt freshmen playing key roles this year, especially on offense. To wit:
QB: Kris Brown
Running backs: Junior Bergen, Xavier Harris, Isiah Childs.
Receivers; Ryan Simpson, Aaron Fontes, Keelan White.
Tight ends:: Cole Grossman, Erik Barker.
Punter: Brian Buschini
Linemen: Brandon Casey, Kevin Good, Noah Ambuehl.
I've probably missed some.
Not to mention all the redshirts.
Not to mention on defense.
Bodes well for the future, no?
For the playoffs?
 
the 'covid year' gave the griz a group of older, stronger freshmen. a plus for hauck and his coaches, also.
 
all i can think of to say (again) is that junior bergen is the mvp. i already know it isn't just me who believes this...
 
I thought city was coming on to tell us he loved all the fieldgoals. He is a huge fan of 3 pointers (and the warriors)

All kidding aside this will play huge dividends the next couple years.

Invaluable experience for these guys. The parody will be in college football for a few years d/t the extra year of eligibility due to covid. Some teams are using that to lean on their 6th year guys. Look at that EWU seventh year lineman. We(out of necessity) have spread the time and experience around. It will pay off into the future.

On a lighter note in regards to the field goal kicking. We had a cats fan with a brand new ftg hat that was telling us after the first fg how they had the best kicker in the fcs (head scratcher after the kittens/Eastern game) and he was going to be the difference in the game. I had our seat neighbors ask him with about 10 minutes to go in the fourth if that wonderful kicker could score 23 points to get them back in the game. There was no reply, just a total deflation in body language. Apparently even all world kickers have limitations.
 
We have to hope that all these impressive underclassmen stay away from the transfer portal. Hope Justin Ford is listening….

He’s transferred 3 times already. I can’t see him wanting to go through that again.

UM recruited him out of HS.... Damn I wish he had signed then.

UM recruited Justin out of JC before he signed with Louisville. Was not aware of him being recruited out of high school by UM.
