Is Haslam waiting too long?

Haslam would be a batshit retard to hire a guy that can't win at the next level back to UM. Why would anyone with a pulse want to hire a guy who won 14 games in 4 seasons?

Belechick couldn't win in vegas.

Exactly. The last guy to have a winning record at UNLV was Harvey Hyde, who was 26-19 from 1982-1985.

But the last time CO Mines won their conference title before Stitt came along was 1958.

Then we should start threads about Hyde. His exciting offense. His extraordinary defense. "Should we hire a coach with a winning record?" How inside sources tell us... "it is a done deal." This has real potential.

And how do the big boosters plan to get BH pushed past Engstrom and the BOR?

I am telling you. That is a problem.

And the BOR doesn't give a flying f#ck about the big money athletic boosters.

I would bet that if Kent and Engstrom both agree to bring Bobby on board, the BOR would be more willing to allow it, as long as they receive a detailed explanation of the plan that Bobby agreed to.

I really don't think there is that much opposition within the administration or BOR to Hauck coaching again. For the most part, in his eight years here there were some DUI arrests, and a reported fight outside a fraternity. Otherwise the complaints about Bobby involve his own personality.

The ones who couldn't get past the Board of Regents are Pflu (because it seemed he had no control over his players), and Mike Kramer (because defendants typically don't want to reward those who sued them). If Haslam & Hauck can strike a deal, I expect it would be approved.

While we are loath to consider, it is also possible he is dealing with a turndown of his first offer - or there is some back and forth going on. I would be surprised if he has not extended an offer by now, but it can take some time for closure. Not sure RE and the BOR are on his speed dial. But it has been reported that Pease is interviewing this weekend, so apparently the fat lady has yet to sing.

BS a good coach like Saban, Kelly, Graham, Carroll etc would win there. It simply isnt true a good coach can elevate programs to levels previously thought unattainable. Hauck proved at UM and at UNLV he isnt that guy.

What would you do if Hauck is re-hired?

Posters that think otherwise have their head in the sand.

If TG was the guy - then why wait? Wouldn't you announce it ASAP for security of your recruiting class and to calm the waters with fans ( or create a miserable tidal wave in the case of egriz). I really can't think of a logical reason to wait if he is the new HC. Unless he is contesting the pay and arguing over being handcuffed about choosing his own staff. Doubtful in my opinion and I know damn near everything. Just ask me.

Because they really don't want TG to be the guy.

Why isn't Matt Lubick getting more consideration? Looking at his resume it looks stellar with lots of experience at the FBS level and Montana ties. Is he just holding out for a FBS HCing position?

Maybe because he is not interested.

Haslam is taking too long and he is not looking very good in the process. MD's possible resignation or termination was known all season. Athletic director's normally start looking for possible replacements early rather than later. Also, MD's formal announcement occurred more than three weeks ago. There are probably some facts and circumstances related to the hiring search that we don't know about that may be impacting the process but he needs to act soon as recruiting is so important. At this point he must know who all the candidates are. He needs to get it done. If the first choice does not accept then he needs to move to the second choice. I thought BH was a safe choice but he may be looking to get someone new to UM.

I don't see it that way. He is doing his due diligence and will hire within the next couple weeks.

He's waiting too long. Great candidates are thinking about bolting. Recruits are getting spooked. This is stupid.

Egrizzers are getting anxious...I agree...lets drop this fucking bomb now!
