Is Game with ND Conference or Non-Conference

The schedule shows this as a conference game. However, the Missoulian today indicates that this is not a conference game? Just looking for clarification. And I know it really doesn't matter for playoff implications.

North Dakota is no longer in the Big Sky Conference but is playing a Big Sky schedule as an independent team this year. That doesn’t change the way Hauck views the game.

“For us, it’s a conference game, so it counts,” he said. “It’s a big game. Huge game for us.”

It counts for us as a conference game, but not for them.

North Dakota plays a Big Sky Conference schedule of 8 games this fall as an FCS independent. All 8 games count as league games for UND’s opponent, aka Idaho State got a league win for winning 25-21 in Grand Forks. Since UND is an independent, the games do not count toward any sort of conference record for the Fighting Hawks. Saturday is Montana’s 4th Conference game, UND sixth game period.
