Is Delaney about to add to Engstrom's $$ payoff total?

What is it, one side or the other of $300,000 and counting? Will Mick go quietly into the good night and retire to Butte or will he want his own two years worth of compensation adding to the payoffs already committed to O'Day and Pflugrad :?: Engstrom's single talent, other than terrible decison making, is giving away $$$ UM doesn't have as the result of those decisions - that along with the unexpected and unexplained exit of several Main Hall veterans including UM's legal school and a senior V-P. The Board of Regents, which is hugely culpable for creating this mess, needs to grow some balls and stop the bleeding and fire this incompetent loose cannon before he inflicts more damage.

And please, no more athletic department hires until he's gone - which a majority no doubt hopes is soon.
A new BOR might also be helpful...

Tip....+1 on your last point. We need Engstrom to exit before there are additional hiring decisions in the athletic department.

I don't see Coach D just walking away & saying "keep next years six figures, I don't need it for my retirement." I also don't see the Powers That Be paying two head coaches two consecutive years, not in this economy.

The direct costs of firing O'Day and Pflugrad are in the half million dollar range, plus legal/defense expenses.

Did the BOR have to OK the firings & the half million, or does Royce have that power to do it on his own?

If he thought it was for the good of the program I would hope he would resign. Mick has integrity and for the most part a good career. He came out of retirement for the program not himself! He should be commended for that.

Said it at the time, but will say again. Thought it was odd that delaney was offered a 2 year contract before an AD was in place.

I find it funny that when we had the press conference to give him the extra year everyone was wetting themselves with excitement. One guy, I forget whom, pointed out that Mick was just a long time position coach with a terrible record as a head coach at NAIA Western. He was roundly shouted down as just a naysayer, it was a rah rah event. Now everyone is ready to fire him and talking about what a terrible decision it was. We pay a little over 100 grand for a coach, Urban Meyer is not going to be available for that. We should be happy he took it, cause it could be worse.

Everyone on here seems to have an uncanny ability to predict the past.

To be clear....i thought he was perfect for interim coach. But didnt think a 2 year contract was wise.
