Is a win over the griz worth celebrating?

As the season goes on and we keep finding ways to lose, I keep wondering if these teams beating us should even celebrate. Everyone is getting a W against us.

I give credit to UND fans, unlike EWU, they didn't rush the field acting like it was a national championship.

I had a dream last night I was buying a lot of new Griz gear with a lot of other grizzers... Griz Nation is set to celebrating a new dynasty season in 2013. Yea, they should because they know next meeting will be a horrible result for themselves. The only thing All teams next year will be able to say is, "remember when"... We are definetly coming back next year, keep your head up GrizNation! Go Griz!!!

The reason their fans didn't rush the field is two-fold. 1) it was not as dramatic a win as EWU given they shredded us. 2) with our fourth loss in a row, it is not a big deal for us to lose. It would be akin to us rushing the field after beating Idaho State!

It's not a big deal to beat UM anymore......you realize your tied with Weber State with the same amount of conference wins..........

For whatever lame consolation this might offer:
Cumulative current records of the three teams the Griz have beat: 6-15.

Cumulative current records of the five teams the Griz have lost to: 24-14. Of course, the last two losses have been against teams with a cumulative losing record (7-9). But at least, overall, the Griz are not losing to really bad teams. (For whatever that's worth -- not much.)

What bothers me most is the thought that the team has really regressed, rather than improved, as the season has gone along. But maybe not: Seems more likely the team has basically stood still. Meanwhile, opponents have studied enough game video to figure out everything Delaney & Company know (obviously, not much).

This +1. Have the Griz improved in any meaningful way since the first game? I don't think so, and that does not reflect well on the coaches.

EWU and UND both beat us by six. We have not lost four in a row. Other than that, very valuable post.

Speaking of celebrating, if the Griz beat ISU next Saturday, I'm thinkin' the goal posts just might come down and make a trip to Red's!

WOW. Makes you wonder why they would even finish the season if that was such a huge victory. :roll:

But the Griz program still gets a ton of respect from opponents (rightfully so), and they still have a target on them from all the successful years. I would imagine if they lose either of the next two, the opponents will celebrate too.

I dont think they believe UND will win this week at MSU............ Now I think that would be a bigger win

The coach didn't say it was the biggest win in UND history. He said it's their biggest win since their FCS debut because of how storied the Griz program is, and because of the records that were set during the game. His stance is much more respectful and substantive than portrayed here.

Thanks for giving me the benefit of the doubt. I did. I wonder what kind of fire UND will come out with this week or if they are content with the win over the Griz.
