Interview with FCS Executive Director Craig Haley

He had his biweekly interview today outlining national FCS updates. A couple of things stood out:

- said the Missouri Valley conference is definitely the power conference this year (I've got to agree with him on that one....6 or 7 teams in top 25)
- thinks the Bison will have their hands full this weekend against #12 southern Illinois in the Fargo Dome and could see an upset
- was asked if there was any other environment that gave a team a huge advantage, and he said without a doubt Washington Grizzly Stadium (thought that was cool to get a shout out). Said that place is eye-opening to opposing teams who have never been there and even a cool experience for the different team analysts that come to cover the game

OK. We keep Haley. Until he speaks bad about our place that is.

Oh he said one more thing.....

That the polls don't determine playoff teams. He said the committee will put even more emphasis on the SRS (simple rating system). So he made a point that if a good MVFC team found its way to a 24 or 25 ranking in the polls, based on strength of schedule, quality wins, quality opponents, etc, that team could still be awarded a playoff spot.
