Fan Message boards/Twitter (X)/ Facebook sure. But those same places you can find people saying "Are the griz just as good as UW.. We beat them 2 years ago". All comments on social media sites should be taken with every grain of salt.. I am also not saying that there aren't some Cats fans that haven't said that, but I haven't heard any with my ears.
Example... Read lots of comments on social media during the FCS Championship game saying "If we score on that TD, and don't fumble twice in the 2nd half, griz are right in this game"... Did I take any of them seriously? No, because they were saying it on message boards and social media. It's like saying "If the Cats didn't let the griz score at all, and the Cats did score, we would have won the Brawl"... Well of course you would have.. But they didn't, and so the griz did...
If UM doesn't fumble on the opening drive of the 2d half and scores a TD then, the whole game and momentum would have been different. If UM scores the early TD when we were held out of the end zone, and also a TD to start the second half, it would have been a completely different game. By the 4th Q, the O was falling apart. With 1 or both of those TD's and thus a closer game, it would have been a different game. And I don't think the O would have fallen apart.
At halftime, the coaches and team expected to win the game.
Now, I am going to pretend to be like way too many of the Bobcat fans. "The Griz were a better team than SDSU. Just had a bad game at the wrong time. UM got as many first downs as SDSU. Got as many 3d down conversions. Had the same TOP. Punted the same number of times. (Speaking of punting, the SDSU punter got all of his punts inside the 20.) Had the same number of penalties. Were only down 4 at halftime. The Griz easily beat the Jacks in dropped easy passes."
