Interesting Red Zone Stats

Possibly our OC has yet to realize that DI defenses (even BSC defenses) are tougher in the red zone than DII defenses.

Maybe he realized that his D1 offensive personnel as a whole are sub-optimal....

I think it all comes down to having a solid OL and a big RB, which we don't have. If we had the big hogs up front to blow open some holes and a RB who could power through, we'd be seeing more TDs in the red zone.

Difficult when you have reduced schollies and your roster priority is stockpiling WRs. Choices. And for some reason the OC seems to like smurfs like Naccarato and Nguyen. Not so useful in the red zone.

I really like your posts in this thread. Yes, the smurf runners are a huge liability in our feeble attempts at red zone execution. Whether it's third and one or third and goal, a slant seems to be the answer? Are any of you surprised by the lack of imagination used in the red zone? F... No! Have you observed a power formation since the first game? H... No! This may be the worst red zone execution I've watched...and I'm talking a lot more than ten years. This coach is very RIGID. I understand that you need to try what you've had success with in the past. It's still early in the process but I'm not seeing a guy who is willing to adapt after experiencing some questionable performances and decision making up to date... :egriz: However, I will say the quick exit offense has a unique way of gasssssssssing the "D" by the fourth quarter.
