Consensual sex, including BJ's, is not a crime. No, they didn't get off easy

Geez, and with 4 guys too? Then man her jaw must've been sore....

From Jezebel.com article. I know nothing about the facts except what's I've read, mostly in this article and on egriz.

"We talk for a while about the alleged football team gang-rape; she knows the details because she's "on and off" with one of the players who was involved and recorded the whole thing on his phone, "because guys are like that." She tells it like this: two best girlfriends got drunk with the team and took turns going around in a circle and giving the players blowjobs. One of the girls also had sex with one of the football players that night, and when her boyfriend caught wind of the affair, she said it was non-consensual. He convinced her to file a police report, but the County Attorney's Office decided not to prosecute, citing a lack of evidence. Tori thinks that's because her friend showed them the video, which depicted the girl excited and laughing. "In other words," Tori says, "She was into it."

Clearly you missed the obvious double entendre.

Clearly, you missed that I was just trying to provide you with additional information.

....... I don't know why you feel that a coach should report an incident that the police have concluded will not result in any charges, and that occurred off campus (where the university policy didn't apply)--where the university did not have a policy to report any such thing. And the coach hadn't been told who the accuser was or that she was a student.

I would think the main reason beyond the common sense getgrizzy mentioned is that sometimes it doesn't end with the police. sometimes it goes beyond say maybe to a newspaper who has been laying for the football program since a fraternity incident a few years previous where a coach told some student reporters to go pound sand for asking (that made the national press as you recall). Of course the coach is saying to himself "no big deal" and the people who can and should deal with it don't find out there is a shit storm brewing until its all over the local press, hits the national press, the DOJ, NCAA , DOE shows up and while the people in charge have hired and investigator who tells them yeah the coaches knew about it and didn't bother telling you. The people in charge say holy shit, they knew this thing could becoming a year and half ago and didn't think they needed to tell us??

I'm not saying that a simple "hey boss a gal accused a couple of my boys of passing out roofies and gang raping some gals. One of the gals was pretty pissed off I'm sure its nothing and will blow over" would have avoided much. But considering everybody who did know and said nothing either was fired, retired or "reassigned" it might have bee a good idea. Apparently the people in charge felt they should have been told (as did the DOE, DOJ etc etc....)

Except Gee...... ;)

Except Gee, I've always wondered about that............ wasn't there some speculation at one time that she was the "NCAA Whistle Blower" and up to her eyeballs in the "firings" throwing JOD and Pflu under the bus being a bit jealous of Sundbergs rise??

That's the one thing I found curious as well. Why was Gee retained? I recognize someone had to be the acting AD, but I thought once Kent was hired that he may choose to "go a different direction" with compliance.

This acknowledgement at the bottom of that hack piece are all you need to know about the veracity of that story:

Special thanks to Gwen Florio, whose fantastic coverage for the Missoulian was extremely helpful.

Well Sundberg was at the final four parties for one thing. Gee was left home. As you may recall the rape contoversey was not the only problem. There was the little matter of JOD's NCAA committee suspending a player from a finals game and a pretty huge rift throughout the country about inconsistent application of rules discipline. There are those who thought that had as much to do with the JOD firing as anything (RE had recently returned from an NCAA meeting and the NCAA ivestigation well underway) and that Pflu was fired because JOD and the environment at the time couldn't survive anyway. if it Pflus comments only he could have been fired and JOD retained. read this:

As this whole mess was compliance . The only way I can imagine Gee surviving is she had photos or was the whistle blower. PR is correct that it was really on her. if JOD slowed her down it could explain a lot.

I had never seen that article (another Florio hack job), but I know quite a bit about the subject and what was going on with that matter and O'Day. This was an ncaa matter, and had nothing to do with O'Day's UM performance or firing. O'Day was merely the head of the committee. It was a committee decision, and once they pushed it up the ncaa, the ncaa took over. The committee/ncaa had jurisdiction because it happened while the playoffs were occurring, and this kid's tweet occurred while enroute to NDSU, and a complaint was made to them. I fought hard for the kid, and had multiple communications with O'Day in real-time. Brint and others from other schools fed me lots of similar tweets. Based on recollection, there were lots of similar or even worse tweets from other playoff teams, other teams, and some basketball teams. I don't think hardly any, or any, were during the playoffs, tho. I looked at the UM tweets too. My recollection is that they were more mild, and all or most were during the regular season. I provided O'Day with research on modern day useage of the N word, and how many believed that the word was used in very different manners with different meanings. I doubt that the ncaa understand this. And it involved re-tweeting, and some related back and forth. My impression is that if someone hadn't complained about the Lehigh kid's tweet, and he hadn't been enroute to the playoff game at the time, the committee/O'Day wouldn't have taken the action it did.

I agree with everything you are saying, but none the less there was a firestorm everywhere else. The leigh kid should never have been suspended. The questions hitting RE and the firings other presidents who met together shortly before had to have had an effect. Think (Paula Deen)

None the less it is very strange Gee was made acting AD (instead of Sunberg who had the Booster connections) and survived a compliance investigation that eneded up with the sanctions we had, a coach suspended, and more. How do you think that happened PR? i realize you don't surmise or postulate much which is to your credit. BUT something else was going on. None of my thoughts are based on conjecture but rather bits and pices from folks in the know as well.

Could you please include this "research" in the "full report" that you promised "by the end of the week"?

I have my theories on the selection of the interim AD, but I don't know. Some of what I think has already been posted in this thread.

Nope. Different subject. It wouldn't surprise me if some of my emails were in the FOIA release. The other masterpiece is in progress, tho.
