Shannon Cate and crew had quite the squad in 1987. In reading, I was unaware of the tragedy that hit Glendive and future Lady Griz Sherri Brooks that same year.

It seems incredible to me the number of great women players the state of Montana has produced. I'm not sure, but if you made a list of the great women players, and compared it to a list of the best men to come out of Montana, I think the women would prevail.

As one example: The Lady Griz have thrived for years primarily on talent from Montana. The men never could have done that.
