A friend of mine told me about Nick Emerson from Columbia Falls that is getting some attention so I looked him up. Also came accross some stuff on the Bradshaw kid. Thought I would share.

Unless the GRIZ have a few more departures after this season, Emerson will not be a GRIZ. We already have 2 guards committed to us for 2011. We have Jamar for 3 more years at SF. Weisner, in my opinion should be a SF also. I pray we do not try making him small power forward.

If Emerson plays Div 1 ball, I do not see it with Montana. The next few years, the GRIZ need to get a few more paint players. Qvale graduates this year, Selvig the year after. That leaves the GRIZ with Hutchison, Reader, and Ward upfront. I hope Tinkle has some young bigs he is in touch with as they are Fr, So, and Jr's this year.

Nice video links though. I do hope the GRIZ can fit Bradshaw in though, being he is only a JR this year.

Maybe they have talked to him about being a preffered walk on? I haven't seen either of these kids play, only going off what friends have said in MT and what I found on the internet, so I don't know if he's D1 scholarship calibre or not. The video is impressive though. Appears to be very fluid and has a very good handle for a 6'5" pg. Was hoping someone on here could provide further insight on their talent. It would be nice to have a few natives on the roster. I do hope Tinkle can rope in some big men though. We always seem to have more sucess when we have a dominant post player (eg: Strait, Qvale ...).

The Griz have been talking to him since last year, maybe even earlier than that. He really impressed them at some basketball camps he attended. They tried to get him to commit last year but he wants to wait a while and see what happens. (Or so I hear!)

He is a 6'5" pg at the Class A level, but he does not have the tools to run the show at the college level. Similar to Selvig, but Selvig had more upside coming out of high school, imo. I see him at the NAIA level, or maybe MSU will take him.
Don't let c falls success this year fool ya into thinking it's because of Emerson, that team is deep with quick, smart, lanky players.
Big man alert...I watched cfalls v glacier last week and glacier had a 6'10" sophomore. Didn't steal the show that night but definitely looked like a future force! I just didn't catch his name...

Ryan Edwards is the big kid from Glacier, not all that athletic but he is very young and he improved a ton since last year so there is a chance he could turn into something. He should get more athletic as his body gets used to all of that size.

Have to disagree with you on Emerson though, I think C-Falls is not near the team they are without him, very calm and smart leader who does it all, scores, rebounds, defends. I think his up-side is the exact reason he is getting some looks, being a late bloomer he is just now starting to show what he is capable of. Being late to the scene it might be tough to get a scholli, but would not be surprised if he ends up walking on and getting one later or going to a JC and ending up D1.

As for Bradshaw, I think I read on the mslacat blog that he was getting love from all of the Utah schools after doing AAU down there, so he might get out of reach. Hell of a shooter and could be a good one though.

I don't disagree that he has a ton of up-side, and I would love to see him in Maroon and Silver, but what I was saying was he is not a college point guard. With that he is going to need to improve his range and bulk into that frame (both very achievable). You're right about his defense too, he does get it done.

Found that bit on Bradshaw I mentioned before

New here, so I just assume you all knew about the mslacat blog, seems like he kinda gave up on it. Too bad because it was a awesome read.

GK19: I see what your driving at with Emerson and I agree. There is a chance, I could picture him as a Jon Sheyer(sp?) -ish type ( played for Duke last year). Not your prototype PG, Just kind of a do it all, help you win games type player. That may be a big project though. But I agree, I would think being a wing player would be a better fit.

I would guess that with Selvig being a JR and the only MT kid on the roster that the coaches are going to want to add an in-state kid sometime soon. These two seem to be the only ones being mentioned as possible D1 guys so I do think that one or both will end up with the team in some manner.
