I was the stubborn one that cussed instant replay for years after the NFL adopted it, then college little by little but was really wishing Big Sky had it this last weekend especially.

I know everything isn't reviewable but some key plays in our game and scats game likely could have been ruled differently.

Sorry if there is already a thread on this somewhere but what gives? Does it come down to a money thing? Politics? Something else? Any chance Big Sky starts using instant replay in the near future during conference play?

Yes, making a correct call by stopping a shitty official is ruining all sports.

Even baseball is using instant replay and quite frankly I'm surprised they allow any technology created after World War 2 with all their unwritten unspoken rules.

I like it in close games. When it can come down to hosting or being on the road in the playoffs, it's big. Especially the way some of these games have been called.

That's what I used to think but I guess I have grown numb to "the new normal." It just bugs me some of the bad calls are so easily changed and obvious by looking at a second or two of video in slow motion.

I think whatever gets the refs to make the correct call is worthwhile. Some of these blown calls are game changers and can mean a win or loss. A perfect example of this was in the bobcats game on the onside kick. Sac State surprises them and recovers it, but the refs blow it and give it to the bobcats. The cats went down and scored because of their great field position. At that point sac state hadn't been stopped in six straight drives and would have scored. This blown call had a tremendous effect on the outcome of that game. I'd say it led to the Sac st loss

This play in particular really got the wheels turning in my head and is a classic example. Not only of a call that would likely be changed but a call that very likely changed the outcome of the game.

It's possible that call effects the entire season. 1 conference loss may be too many for the conference championship. Instead of going in as a top seed they are an at large selection. Not saying it will be that way, but it could be.

Totally agree with this. Coaches will say that 4 or 5 plays determine an outcome of a game. If one or two said plays are "banger type" plays, who in the hell wouldn't want some help (replay) . The point is GET THEM RIGHT !!!! I officiate a lot of college, high school, and Legion baseball in the spring and summer. There are times that I wish I had a chance to review a call, but I don't. I just have to eat the call, come hell or high water.

I would totally be in favor of instant replay/review...but will the video be of good enough quality to be able to see enough to make the right call? We don't have NFL video.

The logistics I am uncertain of but look at it this way......Often times even with the fairly crappy camera work the media outlets covering the game take it is obvious the call (or no call) on the field was incorrect.

Surely not an NFL slow motion super enhanced thing but better than nothing. If their isn't the evidence to support overturning the call so be it.

Unless my TV was screwed up there is no way MSU should have been given possession of that OS kick.

It doesn't need to be perfect. Even a basic shot (such as seen in our typical telecast) would eliminate most of the glaring errors. Then just as in the NFL if there isn't definitive video proof to overturn a call it stands. Not perfect yet a big improvement over allowing a blatant miscall to stand. :ugeek:
