I know this isn't college football, but give the video in this link a watch... their weight room facilities really put ours to shame...

I just want to point out to those who advocate moving to FBS that outside of WashGriz stadium, UM would have some of the worst work-out facilities in all of FBS.

Millions of dollars in upgrades would be necessary to attract a Boise State's or Fresno State's talent. An indoor practice facility would be a must, as a beginning, to move up to FBS and not be laughed out of FBS-level recruits.

Which of the "move up" crowd are going to spring for something like this?

And yet, no team has ever moved down. Makes one think that there absolutely must be ample money at the FBS level. Seems to me that you're making a point FOR moving up. If little ol' Wyoming can afford beautiful facilities at the FBS level, it seems to me that Montana should move up, because clearly the dollars are there. I'm sure our guys would love a new weight room and indoor practice hut, and I don't see too many FCS programs with 'em.

Wyoming can afford an indoor practice facility because it doesn't have a university system spread across every corner of the state.

Again, are YOU going to be the one to donate millions of dollars just to upgrade the facilities?

Montana would have the money for these facilities if the presidents had left the fb revenues within the AD and not siphoned them off to their favorite projects.

Griz training facilities are beyond horrible. However, I doubt much will change under engstrom because it would go against his wish of no football.

population mt. 1 million, wy. 500.000,,,,mt. has 6 four year schools, wy. has 1,,and uses a 3 or 4 j.c schools to feed the u of Wyoming.....Wyoming also knows how to mine coal and oil....we in mt. know few of these things....we are way overspending on educational facilities in comparison....we simply do not have the population base for our upper educational system.....thus imo we are in the fcs for a reason...and will stay there...

We had 6 4-year state schools when we were 500,000 and were told we would grow into the University system. We still haven't. And it's not like we have no 4-year private schools and need 6 state schools.... Typical of big government; once there, never a contraction because somebody might lose their job and some (liberal) politicians could lose some votes.
