Good news on the injury front!

From the Missoulian:

Griz coach reports good news on QB Jordan Johnson

Montana football coach Mick Delaney said before practice Tuesday afternoon that his starting quarterback, Jordan Johnson, is "doing fine and the ankle is good."

Johnson injured his ankle in the first half of Saturday's game at North Dakota. UND linebacker Will Ratelle leveled the senior after he threw a pass and Ratelle was flagged for personal foul. Johnson tried to continue but the ankle was too sore and he sat out the second half.

"He had an x-ray and it was negative last night so we’ll just make sure we’re doing the right thing and he gets completely healed up so that hopefully he’s ready to play," said Delaney, whose team will play its next game a week from Saturday against UC Davis.

"We’ll do what’s best for Jordy."

Delaney also had good news to report about senior wide receiver Sean Haynes. He hasn't played all season but may be back for Montana's next contest.

"Then (TE) Mike Ralston hopefully will be back," Delaney said. "(SS) Justin Whitted I hope will be back. (LB) Connor Strahm didn’t play with the shoulder thing. (RB) Travon (Van) will be fine although he missed most of the second half (at UND).

"Other than Chase (Naccarato) we have a chance to have everybody back that could be back."

Wow.....
That is good news!
I wonder exactly what this means?

Go Griz!

Terrific news.

But man, I'd love to have Chase back as well. That position is so critical to this offense.

Jordan was soaking is ankle and as I reported earlier and the soaking job worked!

Complete recovery 19 days. Ability to play on 10 days (wrapped)

Good news :thumb: the bye week came at the perfect time. Kids need a deserved break. Is it only me but any news on Henderson?

At this point, it seems like no news is bad news with him. :|

This report includes the return of Shaw as well. Earlier posts had Shaw gone for the season. Glad to see he is coming back even though Lider has done an admirable job in his stay.
Like Mick said, the only player out for injury and the remainder of the season on this date, is Chase N.

I see no mention of Poole.

True Dat! Although he doesn't speak specifically about many injured except Haynes, JJ, Chase. I read in the GF tribune where Mick stated about JJ, Whitted, Thiebes and Shaw will be back for UC Davis along with hope of all others injured.

I am still wondering exactly what Delaney meant by, "anyone who could be back from injury, will be back."
Could that be a hint that Poole is possibly ready to be back? I have seen nothing that says Poole was done for the year. Delaney is saying again in this injury update that the only player out for injury for the rest of the season is Chase N.
A healthy Poole would certainly help our Offensive Line down the stretch.
Go Griz!

I'm pretty sure Poole has a bulging disc and needed to lose weight to help relieve it. He will not be back.

There was talk a week or two ago that Poole was practicing on a limited basis with the team. I seem to remember hearing he may be back to block in particular schemes but that his weight was down. Not sure if we'll see him or not this year but it was being discussed.

Poole did resume practicing last week. He has lost weight to help with his back issue and he will be attempting to help the team in sort of a tight end role.

Haven't heard anymore discussion on if he has been able to continue.

Nothing could help our line more than having an experienced guy in as a TE to help pick up the slack.

Ralston will be a great help. But then again one of my favorites is 31 Justin Whitted a potential game changer. In fact I am glad to see all these guys return.

No one (coach) is listening but I would love to see many of these injured men simply play some then sit on the bench and rest the wounds etc. Live healthy and play the season on out.

Lets watch some young guys play in the upcoming game. Time to watch some new and young sizzlers play and allows egriz to visit about a new topic.

I certainly would agree with letting some of the younger kids play on defense after the first half, but on offense, we need to get some things figured out first.
I agree that I would love it if we don't have anymore injury update discussions this year!
Go Griz!
