When the Cats have a lot of injuries that we complain about we're always told it must be poor conditioning and weight training. Has anyone looked into that?

Team depth is another thing that makes the injury bug worse.

Football is a game of attrition.

I didn't hear fizz fans complaining when they played EWU, who was a walking mash unit this year
or WSU the week before you played the Cats

Have you heard any Griz fans complaining about injuries now? Why can't you discern the difference between presenting the facts, in this case several days after the end of the regular season, and complaining and making excuses.

Your frequently doing stuff like this as well as other of your comments (like your Hauck comments) make me have a lower opinion of you, think you don't really know the game, and you are more troll than substance-and causes me to discredit or not believe what you post. Of course, do and say what you want, but I don't think your ought to think that most posters on egriz take what you say as having much truth or substance.

like I give a shit about your opinion of me :thumb:

It's not just my opinion. Now, alot more posters reading my posts will probably realize that they too have the same opinion. I can tell my posts are getting to you. Try being a bit more careful of what you say about Hauck on egriz.

Which if you had read the post closely you would realize that it is part of the problem George was pointing out. Particularly at the secondary, we were hammered by injuries and a lot of the depth is now gone. No one is making an excuse here or complaining. Quite the opposite. They are proud of what the team accomplished despite the injuries.

This is the sentence just above what you highlighted in GF’s post. Do you know understand those words? Yet, another example of how biased and out to lunch you are.

“No one is making an excuse here or complaining.”

You're right. We fully expected to lose four cornerbacks for the season. :? :? Guess we're fortunate Stitt had 75 WR's on the roster so we could convert a few more of them to CB's...

Now Stitt had a plan! How 'bout that! Convert some of those receivers into lineman, hell JLM has the heart for it.

As fun as the last 4 years have been I can't wait to see what our programs will become.

Great thread very good read thank you George Ferguson! The bye week is a big deal because of injuries. Injuries happen to every team in football but hit some teams more than others for sure. Hope the Griz can heal up for next Saturday.

Babros, Rice and O'Connell, at various times.

?, Rice and O'Connell played in all 12 games and Babros played in 11. Are you maybe thinking of Nagler, Nelson, and Demming? They missed 8,5, and 2 games respectively.

It's my understanding that all of these guys had some injuries. For example, in 5 games in a row, Babros registered a total of 2 assists and one qbh. There was a reason for that.

This guy 2506 is a troll who seems intent on hijacking every thread.

GF = thank you for your informative post.

I wanted to wait a few days after Cat-Griz, so our Cat fans on this board won't accuse me of tying it to Cat-Griz, which I'm not, though, those same posters said injuries were the ONLY reason the Griz did to Weber what the Cats did to the Griz.

Anyway, this has little to do with Cat-Griz other than the guys who got banged up in the game. So here's a little look at just what the Griz have gone though with injuries this season.

No offense but this seems like a preemptive excuse making. You can look at any college team in America and you will see equal to or worse injury lists. This team doesnt need any excuses. They have what I think is a great draw and should get to a JMU match up in the Semis without seeing either of the teams that caused them problems

Every starter except maybe Akem will be available for the playoffs

While I agree that depth took a little hit its the same for everyone this time of year.

Injuries that were noted initially on this thread:

Akem- Clearly the big one and has been missed but this is an area with a ton of depth. Ill note he did play in blowout loss to sac state and not in blow out win of Weber

Egbo- Hasnt been there all year-Back up

Tolliver- Non factor-Unknown how much of a roll if any

Hemphill- Non factor-Unknown how much of a roll if any

Rensvold- Another position with a lot of depth. Touch Down Machine is a little rich. 3 catches in 3 games for 16 yards and 1 TD

Sulser-He is an intriguing one. I think he was not properly used while in but in either case played in 6 games and had 9 catches for 82 yards and no TD's

Sneed- Obviously a big if not he biggest reason the Griz have had the success they had this year but he missed all of parts of 3 games. He wouldnt have made a difference in the sac state game and its not becasue he isnt good enough but because to many other negative factors across the board in that game

Mamula- He was a nice fill in but another position with some depth. He had 14 tackles in 11 games and 3 sacks.
Comaparing him to Holmes is laughable at this point

PAGriz, I think the part you’re missing is that Sneed isn’t “Sneed”.....he’s virtually immobile back there, which changes our offensive production dramatically. That was evident in both the Idaho game and the MSU game. I hope he’s had a chance to heal these past couple weeks...his inability to run takes away a huge part of his game.
