Info on Recruit Dave Vanderjagt (Australia)

On the Australian Website, Daves Bro posted the following:

The thing that really made dave choose montana I think was the fact that larry K made the effort to come out to Australia to visit with Dave. This was pretty big time in his eyes and I think from then on he knew it was the right place for him.

Yes the tarheels expressed a small amount of interest.

this is becoming strikingly similar to a certain thread that devolved into raving arguments about potential meanings for the term "outclassed".

gawd greenie, you are worth your weight in gold. i'm sure plato had you in mind when he opined about the existence of another 'plane' where there is a 'perfect' example of objects on this earthly 'plane', 'cuz cuzzin greenie, you certainly are a perfect example of something. or other.

keep up the good work!

More info from a guy that plays against Dave. I love the termanolagy, yet the last sentance somehow does not work in translation. Love the terms "Footer", "Trizzy",

i play against dave up here in the ville.

very good movement for a big guy, as said ealier got good ballhandling skills and can run the floor great for a footer.

very consistent shot from outside like his brother in the crocs, defiantly hit the midrange and just as much the trizzy aswell. although he is fairly slim, and will need to bulk up which no doubt in the states he will, and then would be very tough to handle inside.

as his brother said the only thing lacking may be his back to basket moves. its not like he does'nt have moves down on the block, they just could be expanded on and improved to get easier shots...."pat reidy" stlye. once he develops a stronger post game, he would be the shit.

Payton-thanks for making this connection with the land down under. Info like this will help sustain me in terms of my periodically required GRIZ hoops fix! :thumb:

tell me, what does the line "in fact, I'm not sure Calvary knows anything in particular about UM" have to do with subject at hand? given the context in which it was introduced, does it have any other purpose but to serve as an expemplification of self-grandiosity by the author? it certainly doesn't pertain to the main theme of how/why the austrailian dude is coming to missoula, unless you buy into the implied premise that the author of the statement has some special line on who knows about grizzly basketballin the world and who doesn't.

let's stick to the subject at hand, shall we fellas? otherwise i'm gonna have to send you a warning, and move this over to the 'self-aggrandizing' board.

thanks,

the nonAdmin.

Joakim Noah is only about 6'11'' 220 lbs, so if DV really is only 200 than he may not be too far off as far as weight goes. We don't need him to be Shaq or anything. 20-30 lbs isn't asking too much to gain on a 7' frame.

If he could run the floor and handle the ball like Noah he wouldn't need much more size because no big man could keep up with him. Size is not everything. Big Baby of LSU got schooled because he plays below the rim and is out of shape. He could lose 40 pounds and be much more effective.
