If the point is to honor the men and women of Montana who are serving their country, then do it right or don't do it at all.
Everyone sitting around us Saturday thought the exercise was half-baked. Most took it as another example of poor university leadership.
Exactly.
a moment of quiet reflection would be more appropriate.

I know we are there for the game and I know some of those in charge are on this board. What the heck happened to pre-game?! Military appreciation and no fly over? No large flag? No singing of our National Anthem? Pathetic. As with most openings this year...pathetic. And this weekend of all weekends it was a disgrace to our service members.
it is a football game not a rally.

True, but if I might insert a little nugget here. The "Rally" that is a game at WaGriz is sensational. I've been a Cat fan for a long time, but any time I meet someone new (I work with and associate with a variety of people) who are interested in catching a college football game, I send them to WaGriz first. Of course, I'd like to have new people be recruited into the Bobcat fold, but that's not my bag. Despite my preferences, the best game day atmosphere is still in Zutown. The Cats are catching up, anyone can admit that, but they have a long way to go. And even if Bobcat Stadium one day matches WaGriz in numbers, it still wont have the cool aesthetics of being nestled into the loins of the Rocky Mountains like WaGriz. And it's not the numbers that make a game in Missoula great (it helps) it is the raucousness of the environment, the spectacle; its a tribute to football. I hope you don't lose that.

the whole "pink out" thing has gotten out of hand. Now it is a culture of its own without the original intent. I don't need more "cancer awareness". I'm perfectly aware. Now lets put the money into an actual CURE.

I agree, but I don't think it will happen because there's too much money at stake.

Gotta say, I spent my years in the marine corps...and i was in the NEZ yesterday and in no way was i insulted. The pictures and the tributes to the service members were great and i doubt any service members felt insulted

A drone with just one hellfire strike would really liven the place up. Royce would probably even offer up a target...

I know we are only allowed 1 flyover per season, and they usually save it for the Griz/Cat game. Not sure about the anthem or anything else.

There will be a flyover for Cat/Griz this year, and a member of the National Guard will be singing the national anthem.
