I think we overlook the benefit of a badass kicker. We would have won a few less games if Carpenter wasn't capable of doing what he did. It's inevitable that every once in a while we will get a penalty or a bad series that gets us in 4th and long, if we have a kicker that is capable of hitting 45 yarders consistently then we should be able to put up a LOT of points.


Since Carpenter has left, we've had nothing but hand me downs and before Carpenter it was just one great kicker after another.

Not at first he wasn't.

Id say, he was a wild card cause he wasnt very good at the beginning but surprisingly got better later down the road.

Carpenter was inconsistent his FR and SO years as well. They each progressively got better with each year. Carpenter just became amazing, verses solid that McKnight became
