Impressive Upset

A lot of people thought James Madison had a good chance to upset "FBS" East Carolina (yours truly included). But I do not think any of us thought they would dominate EC. But they did and are currently running out the clock on a 20-point win (34-14) ... and it wasn't that close.

JMU was actually favored in this game...so not sure it is an upset.

Really? Wow it wasn't too many years ago East Carolina was actually kind of a power, guess I haven't followed them lately.

Liberty making a good showing tonight.....so may be (kind of) an upset? At least proving they should be where they are.

East C was good for awhile under Skip Holtz, but he was hired away. Then McNeill had some good years, but then he had a bad year and was replace by Montgomery(?). They were pretty bad in his first year (3-9), so not a lot was/is expected this year. I thought JMU had a pretty good chance to win ... I just didn't think it would be a butt-kicking: 614 yards of offense for JMU vs 363 EC, with 422 rushing yards for JMU and just 70 (! ) for ECU.

I watched Sam Houston beat Richmond, well some of it, and after hearing this about JMU,I believe the Griz have a ways to go to getting back to a team capable of getting back to a deep FCS playoff run . These guys play some good ball!
But we got a lot of season ahead of us before we have to think about such matters.
