This. There is no reason UM shouldn't be a top 10 team every year at minimum, and for MSU I'd say top 20, just because we are behind in some areas.

But seriously what other FCS programs offer what we offer? Both programs are in towns where the local support is huge. Both towns are energetic, fun college towns. Both programs are the highest level of play in the whole state. There are only a handful.

If you are a player but aren't good enough for Alabama, you can come to UM or MSU and at least have a similar experience in terms of being a rock star, just on a smaller scale.

Agreed. MSU has built the attendance and interest up significantly in the last decade or so, improved facilities, and appears to have a very good and energetic coaching staff now. Winter weather is tougher in Bozeman. MSU's qb club is much bigger than UM's. Don't know why.

UM now has the Performance Center and new locker rooms, Hauck back, and a better stadium and game day atmosphere.

Hauck wants to get back to recruiting MT first and heavily, and competing with some of the lesser FBS schools in the West, instead of recruiting as much against the Big Sky schools. I think he and UM will get there.

Having Bodnar at UM is going to help UM a lot, including athletics, I think.

Agreed with all. PR, maybe they have a larger QB club because the price to join is lower? Or, if it is not less; maybe there are more guys in their 50s and 60s who remember the last time the cats won a national championship and they are throwing their engineer money around to join the QB club so they can hope to experience a winning program at state again?

Bodnar is a huge plus, hopefully he really "gets" the rivalry like Cruzado seems to.

Well, I tried to force my Navy bosses to let me attend the non-existent Naval ROTC unit at the U of M, but they threatened to court martial me. So, I got as close as I could. :thumb:

And should we take a poll? See how many people on this forum ACTUALLY attended U of M (which I did, by the way, for a year prior to entering the Navy)...or how many are actually born and raised in Missoula (which I am, and where I lived until I was 21)?

I will way in on this poll. I did not attend UM. I got my education with 23 years active duty in the Air Force. I received college eduction thru Community College of the Air Force.

I will way in on this poll. I did not attend UM. I got my education with 23 years active duty in the Air Force. I received college eduction thru Community College of the Air Force.
