If you're upset over Pat Williams calling FB players thugs

Why do you say ,"in this age of Obama"? He is on record as saying he is against the FBS system but is highly in favor of those schools entering a playoff system. We as Griz fans, including you Texas, know the excitement generated by a playoff system. You may be right, although I dispute it, that interest in college football is waining, but if it is, it ain't Obama's fault.

The old gray lady can always count on a made to order mouthpiece like Pat Williams.

I agree with Sean Hannity

TxGriz, trying turning off Faux News once in a while. To link this somehow to Obama is completely ridiculous. President Obama is a great and knowledgable sports fan who actually understands that football playoffs are much better than the bowl system.

So what does it take to get Williams dismissed from his BOR position? Sorry, if this has been addressed elsewhere. I have not read through every thread on this subject yet.
He hasn't been confirmed yet, so only the Senate can remove him from being a regent. Once he is confirmed the only way he can be removed from being a regent is for misconduct under the constituion

Appointment and Terms of Regents
Regents are appointed for 7‐year terms by the governor, except the student regent,
who serves for 1 year. Regents do not serve at the pleasure of the governor, as do
executive department heads. Regents, once appointed, cannot be removed except
for misconduct pursuant to the Montana Recall Act

The other regents have no say on removing a regent, and certainly the Commissioner has no say as the regents are his boss.

Here is a site that makes it easier to contact State Senators to comment on Pat Williams appointment:
http://leg.mt.gov/css/Sessions/63rd/legwebmessage.asp" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

edit: The committee that will consider PW for the BOR is the Education and Cultural Research Committee. The on-line comment form allows you to select a committee, and the message will go to all members. or you could contact the individual members directly:

Education and Cultural Resources

Peterson, Jim (R - Ch)
Jones, Llew (R – V Ch)
Arntzen, Elsie (R)
Brown, Taylor (R)

Stewart-Peregoy, Sharon (D)
Windy Boy, Jonathan (D)
Secretary: Elizabeth Whiting, Rm 321, (406) 444-

Staff: Pad McCracken (LSD), Research An

You are correct that the other board members cannot remove Pat Williams but I believe they can certainly recommend that to the Senate. The Governor can also withdraw his appointment and recommend someone else.

Pat does not represent the State of Montana, it's people or the University system. It's a shame that he uses his position as a bully pulpit from which to execute his personal agenda. Pat needs to be put out to pasture, and that right soon.

I didn't get that from watching Fox news. More like ESPN and any other news outlets that have broadcast his anti-football statements. Did you catch Jim Harbaugh's rebuttal to Obama's comments asked him by a stenographer from the traditional left wing state controlled media?

Does living in Texas do something to people...they sure seem to be negative people...jmo

Probably the same way people in Montana are dumbasses when it comes to Griz football........:coffee:

You lose all credibility Tex when you trash the NY Times and use phrases like: age of Obama, and the traditional left wing state controlled media. The editorial page of the NYT is mostly left of center but the reporting side is not.

You are delusional.......I can tell from your posts and the fact you read the NYT for news.

Some of you are hilarious. It's a meltdown when a liberal like Pat Williams dares to go against a liberal town and university. I'm a liberal, and even I can see the hypocrisy. Missoula is an echo chamber.

Then in that case we should all thank Pat for having the amazing vision and recognition to see some type of pattern developing and have the courage and conviction to stand up and speak as the lone voice of reason against a program that was never going to change. Boy thanks Pat, what would we ever do without you!?!?

Excluding Alpha, Growler, Northwest Fresh and Papa G on BN, does it scare anyone else that a member of the Board of Regents has now publically stated TWICE, that he's going to have a hand in the Grizzlies' recruiting philosophy from now on?

A swing and a miss, Limbaugh. I get most of my news from the Seattle times, PBS News Hour and the International news from the BBC...because they still cover it.

I don't know if that was directed at me but I have lived in Washington State for over 20 years.

I guess if you can have co-offensive coordinators you can have two recruiting coordinators....hey I like it.  PW can recruit Butte searching for scholars.....Gragg can hit the West Coast looking for angels in uniform....and 'ol Royce can chip in with South Dakota and their chemistry major/football players......just don't recruit ANY thugs!!!! Shouldn't be too hard to do!!! :P

Teton, I wonder how many thugs there are at Easydaking Gilbert's Saturday night hip hop parties>? Oh wait, they just have a different "high school night" each week, meaning girls from a that local high school are admitted free of charge. I'm sure they don't serve liquor though. All those red solo cups in those pics are full of punch I'm guessing.
