lotsa said:The article in which Williams was quoted was about the Johnson trial. Therefore, his comments can be taken to include Jordy. In addition to all that has been said, the comments are unacceptable for several other reasons. First, a jury is being picked today. This is a back handed effort (purposely or negligently) to influence public opinion and the result. Second, Williams has taken up the Rahm Emanuel approach of never letting a tragedy go unused. The even of the trial is not a time for politics. Two young people's lives have been forever damaged. We should let the process play out properly, not politically, and hope that all sides can recover. The football program is secondary to doing this properly and cheap shot efforts like Williams' should be denounced at the highest levels.
If his purpose was to use his status as a member of the BOR in order to influence the outcome of a criminal trial in favor of his "friends" then this action was not simply indiscretion, it could be construed to be criminal. The State Attorney General should be investigating as to what charges can be filed against PW.
