If you're upset over Pat Williams calling FB players thugs

I just wrote in to support RE and Pat Williams. Someone has to have the balls to do the right thing.

Do something about it.

Email or call the Governor: http://governor.mt.gov/contact.aspx" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

And email or call the Commissioner of Higher Education: http://mus.edu/che/che_staff.asp" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Direct email for Clay Christian: [email protected]

I just sent them both notes, saying that it is about time the mess in Missoula is getting cleaned up :thumb:

+1 I did to....praising the efforts of Pat Williams and Royce Engstrom to clean of the mess perpetrated by O'Day et al.

Ahh, so you are the two people that share a brain cell with Pat Williams.

Done!
Below is the email I sent to both of them.

Good evening!

I email you this evening with concern and outrage over recent comments made by Pat Williams. Mr Williams comments are completely uncalled for and false. To indicate that the UM has recruited nothing but thugs is an all out lie. There are plenty of great things many of these young men due around the community for charities, youths etc. Does Mr. Williams take that into consideration before he makes comments such as he did, I think not.

With Mr Williams serving on the BOR one would think his mission and goal would be for the betterment of the the education system in Montana, including the U of M. Mr. Williams comments seem to be just the opposite. Rather than to aid and improve his comments look to harm and punish.

Mr. Williams is entitled to his opinion, but he should be capable of using better judgement and keeping comments such as this to himself. Mr. Williams with his comments only added more negative attention to an already sensitive situation. For this it is my opinion that Mr. Williams be removed as a member of the BOR.

Thank you so much for your time!

um, he said they recruited "too many thugs", not "nothing but thugs". one is too many, so he is right.
You honestly believe the Griz recruited someone known to be a thug? Of course you have proof of that...? Or is retrospective determinism your sort of thing?

Oh Pat - the tangled web we weave when we try to deceive. There is a thing called Karma folks. Our players had to deal with the consequences of their poor behavior as they should have. PW, RE, and GF will also have to pay for their actions one way or the other. Things will work out in the end. The Griz will also be back on top and Cats2506 will angrily go back in his box in the basement.

Just curious, how is calling ALL Griz football players thugs the right thing. Williams did not name names, he did not differeniate between Qfree and Colt Anderson or Andrew Badger and Marc Mariani. For someone in his position, and for an interview in such a high-profile publication, I'd say NOT clarifying his remark or being more specific is the FURTHEST thing from doing the right thing.

try and get some oxygen to your brain...it helps.

The article in which Williams was quoted was about the Johnson trial. Therefore, his comments can be taken to include Jordy. In addition to all that has been said, the comments are unacceptable for several other reasons. First, a jury is being picked today. This is a back handed effort (purposely or negligently) to influence public opinion and the result. Second, Williams has taken up the Rahm Emanuel approach of never letting a tragedy go unused. The even of the trial is not a time for politics. Two young people's lives have been forever damaged. We should let the process play out properly, not politically, and hope that all sides can recover. The football program is secondary to doing this properly and cheap shot efforts like Williams' should be denounced at the highest levels.
