Listen to some of Kyle Whittingham’s and Jay Hill’s press conferences from March 19 on YouTube as they discuss spring football. Whittingham specifically on his father’s defense that he and Hill have used for years and how it works very well in this age of constant movement of players. He insists that you have to keep it simple for the players to learn so they can play instinctively and fast. Most feel Hauck’s defense was not simple to learn and the most successful years using it was when the players really had time (Covid) to understand all its nuances. Hill’s PC is just very enjoyable to watch. Michigan fans are liking what they are seeing with Hill. He will be a big time head coach at some point. I always reluctantly admired what he did at Weber.

I cheer for Sparty and the old PAC 12 teams but Whittingham makes me dislike Michigan less. Good coach and solid guy.
