If we and UNI win, do we host for sure?

I wonder it is solely on the bid amount or if estimated ticket sales enter into the consideration, since the NCAA gets 75% of the ticket sales (net, I think). Either way its most likely UM, UNI avg 2013 attendance was 1/2 of UM avg (12k+ vs 24k+) - I don't know what UNI ticket prices are, a quick google search suggests $15-$20.

Ticket sales are part of the bid. Host is on the hook for any bid amount that exceeds game revenue.
First round attendance:

Missoula 14,018
Cedar Falls 10,307

The NCAA sets ticket prices for the playoff games. I'm not sure whether they consider the price of regular season tickets or whether the bid has anything to do with it.

UNI is still whining about having to come here in 2011.

Yes, but, I suspect the UM bid is much less than 75% of 20k tickets at $35 or potentially a $700k gate (gross). The minimum bid is something like $50k for quarterfinals. (I believe the NCAA gets 75% of net - I don't know what the facility costs are that deduct from the total gate.)

As I understand it from another thread the NCAA requires the ticket prices to be no less than your minimum regular season ticket price. So we paid $35 for our tickets, I think I saw somewhere that UNI's tickets for round 1 were closer to $15.

And you can assume that each school's bid would be determined by game revenue, but that does not have to be the case. A school can pad a bid with additional money promised from the community, businesses or booster contributions. A school can essentially "buy" home games.

Let's keep focused on ewu. Gotta beat them first :thumb:

Technically, "we" aren't playing EWU. Our team is. So this discussion shouldn't hurt us too badly. ;)
