If not Sttit than who? (Stitt merge)

As hard as it is to admit this offense will not produce a winning season. It cannot score enough points to beat ewu or msu. Bob Stitt has made some horrendous errors in judgement and for whatever reason can't recognize it. His patented answer is we just didn't make enough plays. Well no kidding bob. There are so many things wrong with what he does it boggles my mind how some on here accept it and turn the other cheek. We have a very good defense and yet Stitt does everything possible to set this thing up for losses. Yea yea just wait until he gets his guys and more blah blah blah. What happened to "I have some dudes?" This whole damn thing has been a train wreck from the beginning. Granted Gus will probably be back for UND but there is so much wrong with this offense it won't matter because it just can't score enough points to win against good teams. Prediction is we will beat ISU but I wouldn't bet on the others. It will be interesting when cat fans are hoping Stitt sticks around for another year  and begin asking how long can Montana sustain another Stitt season. I think it's hilarius that some on here were actually asking how long it would be before he left for greener pastures. Oh by the way 3 points is better then 0 And it rewards the offense for moving the ball into field goal range. It still amazes me how people are overly hyped about the numbers of plays and seem to over look the scoreboard. Nope not a Stitt fan......wasn't when was hired and surely not now. By all calculations we might be competitive when the next presidential election cycle comes around. When's that 2020. Bottom line is we are not very good.

People are upset about the field goals, but what about third and one and passing it into the end zone for a touchdown (incomplete pass)? Why not just get the first down running the ball? Totally went away from the run when the OL was getting some push.

I think a lot of eGrizzers need to not post on eGriz for 24 hours after a loss to let their jets cool.
What do people expect? It's going to take a season before we start seeing positive results. Stitt will be fine.
As much as a lot of people don't want to hear it, it is a learning thing for him.

He was at a place where he could take those gambles, and thousands of people weren't going to questions his judgment.

In regards to going for it, I think once the offense comes around into what he's envisioning (and newsflash: it's pretty far away when you have to play your 3rd string guy behind this O-Line), he'll be able to go for it on 4th more confidently with better results.

Griz Nation just needs to breathe, take a step back and relax.

We just might not be what we thought we were after the NDSU game, and that's okay.

This is NOT the place we bring people to learn. We bring them here to win. Weber loss at home. No words for this right now.

I expect to beat a shit team at home, that is what I expect.

I thought Weber played terrific. They came into our house and kicked us in the face. They imposed their will upon us.

I'm fine with Stitt and think he has very good potential, but Bobby was the obvious choice. I guess we'll see. Wonder if Haslam is starting to get some flak. Think how bad it would have been if UM had lost to NDSU. That win gave some good breathing room.

Yeah, the NDSU win and the fact that we're on our 3rd QB. Now personally, I'm on record as saying that perhaps Simis will turn out to be the best of the 3 (given Brady's struggles against Poly and Liberty), but the fact remains that Stitt has now lost his top 2 chosen QB's. I need to go read through the other thread where I posed this question (my apologies if someone answered), but when was the last time the Griz lost their top 2 QB's?

I wonder how many people who were crucifying Pflu in 2010 are on the "Fire Stitt" bandwagon.

Even worse, I wonder how many people who defended Pflu in 2010 are on it.

Griz fans sure are unbelievable sometimes.

I had the same thoughts too and agree 100%.

Unfortunately Stitt doesn't seem to be able to see when his offense is struggling. If he did he would have taken a shot at those 2 field goals, most likely made them, and won the game. This team has the talent to win games by a wide margin. You can run 90 plays but when half of them seem to be bubble screens, you're taking Jones and Henderson out of the game. I thought for sure Jones was injured when Naccarato rolled into his legs on a bubble screen. It should be the other way around. Weber played physical. Mix that with a team that left points on the field on back to back drives and the odds were in their favor.

I'm liking this Stitt guy better every day

His offense will set records they said. His magic formula of 90 plays wears teams out he says. His offense doesn't need a Tight end or a fullback he says.

All Bullshit and you guys ATE IT UP.

As I predicted, it is your own defense that is wearing out in games. You're having a greater prevalence of injuries. And you can't get out of your own way in the redzone. You have to be close to the bottom in redzone efficiency. Why? Because you can't run the ball. To compound that, the field is compressed down there and the spread passing attack doesn't work as well as it does between the 20's. And then, he elects for no points.

Yes, the man is a genius.... In a way that only Earle the Pearl could understand.

Please keep him for at least 5 seasons. He'll do enough damage you won't recover for a decade.

As much as it pains me to say it... I agree. And, what's worse... You may just be right about this hire. I think UM and the fans were hoodwinked by the hype, the Twitter feed, and the "success" that Stitt occasionally had a CSM. His dynamic, QB friendly system has proven to be a farce and easily out schemed. The worst teams in the league are out coaching Stitt. It's an embarrassment, just the same as this OL is an embarrassment to the tradition of Griz football. Remember 2013 and last year when Jones and Henderson were able to get separation down field? None of that this year. While we sling it all over the place and I see a lot of man coverage because defenses can pin their ears back (no running game), there is still no separation at all. Have they suddenly become pedestrian or is the scheme so bad that they aren't able to out athlete people?

People complain about this kind of attitude saying that we should "give Stitt 3 years before we judge." I say bullshit. 3 years of this nonsense and the Griz will become the league door mat the likes of Davis and UNC. He was a bad hire, plain and simple. It is obvious that this team is not buying what he is selling.

"I feel horrible for our players," Montana head coach Bob Stitt said after the loss. "As a coach you feel like a parent and you want to help them, and when it doesn’t go their way, it’s heart-wrenching that you can’t help them be successful when they’re giving you everything they’ve got."

This statement, taken from today's paper really ticks me off, yes coach, you COULD have helped them be successful !!! Field goals win games !!!
