If Hill's our QB, can we beat NAU?

I don't think you can beat them with either but that's just my opinion. (I'm usually right about these things).

A legend in his own mind!

Preseason National Champion Prognosticator each and every year.

And yes we can.

What happened to Jensen? I read he might or might not have a concussion, the injury didn't sound to serious, but it must be if Jensen's health is in question.

Bounced his head hard off the Weber concrete turf and is in concussion protocol.

See Murray last year against the Griz. And Hill is a better passer and has much better receivers. It will be loud and if our D steps up, and our O under Selle, this is a winnable game. Go D!

Big difference in defensive coaching however....NAU will be ready to force him to try to win it throwing and not running. Not saying he can't do it but he has a far tougher task going against NAU defensive coaches than Murray did against Semore

Unfortunately
You speak truth.

Luckily our receivers can beat 1 on 1 if that is what we see. I really like Selle calling plays.

Big drop off from second to third string quarterback. Hill is an excellent athlete, but doesn't progress his reads very far before looking to run. If Gresch is out (which seems highly likely to me), then the D better step up big time for this team in order to win. With a mobile quarterback this year, I have had lots of confidence in our offense. However, the drop off to 3rd string will be huge.
What are you talking about; Hill is far more mobile than Jensen. He's a real threat running the ball. That is the strength of his game.

I was trying to say that due to this year’s mobile quarterbacks I have been very confident in the offense all season. However, there is a big drop between 2nd and 3rd string in passing. I don’t see Hill throwing us to victory.

Would not be surprised to see some new ‘wrinkles’ in offensive package.....perhaps more wildcat, option run game.

Recall many years ago when Griz faced a similar qb situation that hauck came out with approach as above

This is the must win game, expect the unexpected

I think will be a very interesting game to see how Stitt adapts to new personnel. If he does Griz stand a chance, if tries to just plug Hill into GJ spot I don't think it will cut it with only a week of practice for Hill. NAU will pressure him enough to force him into instincts which will lead to sacks trying to scramble or throw aways after first read due to pressure. Hill will be put in a tough position if that happens. Max protect packages hoping the WRs can beat the DBs without sending 4 in patterns, and more read options/designed QB runs are best bet. Semore needs his best game to keep score low enough to give the offense a chance to score enough (won't likely be able to put up big numbers). Oline play in running game will be huge, can't have 3rd and long.

Oh, he's gonna play, and by God we're gonna win.
Chubbs told me. RIP in peace, bro.

backups have always came in and had excellent games, I don't see why this would be any different. Actually might be beneficial as all the game film that NAU has been watching is preparing for is with Jensen. I think we win either way.

According to Bob Stitt in a recent interview "its too late in the season to change the game plan" i expect us to come out and run the exact same scheme we've ran for 2.5 years.

I don't understand why changing the game plan depends on where in the season you are...perhaps he just isn't ABLE to ADJUST

If you are getting shit stomped at half time you better change the scheme or change the coach.

Don't focus on the entire game when we played well in the second half. If you can't see that we are building something special from that second half, you just aren't looking hard enough!

Or, hold onto the ball and not fumble or throw picks--and hope the refs don't blow calls. Don't think fumbles, and at least the picks UM had, were related to scheme. Targeting penalties are not related to scheme either. Nor, of course, are bad or missed calls by refs. Can't imagine any halftime or scheme adjustments were made to stop fumbles, picks and targeting penalties--or bad calls by refs.

Funny, I don't recall referring to the WSU game.

I don't recall saying you were referring to the Weber game. If I did, please quote the language.

Besides UW, in which games were the Griz getting stomped at half time?

This is an excellent post. These are exactly what I was thinking about as well. I believe this will show what kind of coach Stitt really is. Will he be stubborn and just plug and play, or will he coach for the QB to excel. I hope for the latter...

If Stitt does the latter, I think Griz fans will be in for a pleasant surprise. I agree with the assessment as well.
