If Cats don't win in Frisco, should Vigen be moved on?

Come back home and beat PSU, go to Bozeman and get destroyed by the Cats, come back home and beat whatever crappy fringe playoff team, and then once again travel to a DSU to get destroyed. That's exactly how it played out, and most Bobcat fans, and actually a good chunk of griz fans knew that was exactly what was going to happen. QB debacle, and head scratching non use of your best weapons aside, the main problem is how inadequate the griz lines are, on both sides of the ball, against the elite teams in the FCS.

Sounds a lot like how the Cats went to the chipper, then regressed to the semis, then regressed even further losing to both SDSU and NDSU (who Griz beat for the second time in a row at home) and getting bounced in the quarters.

Tell me again how Vigen has the program competing with NDSU amd SDSU? I remember when you talked all kinds of loads of shit just like you are now before the Cat Griz game and then your team got fucking walloped. Just ran out of the stadium. Why do you come on here and make these posts all the time and do this to yourself? I remember you disappeared for a while last year after that it was lovely. You’re going to look like the biggest fool on earth if your cats bounce again.

Great post. My sentiment too. Posters like you, me and Griz posters who know football and love Griz football never say how wonderful the Griz are, even on Egriz. What a contrast.

In last 2 seasons:

1. Griz are 23-6 and 4-2 playoffs, with loss in Frisco

2. If Cats lose to SD in semis, Cats will be 22-5 and 2-2 playoffs, with no trip to Frisco

3. If Cats beat SD and get to Frisco but lose, Cats will end up 23-5 and 3-2. [same wins as UM, 1 less loss, 1 less playoff win - advantage Griz]

4. If Cats win in Frisco, Cats will be 24-4, and 4-1 in playoffs. [Advantage Cats, by 1 more win, 2 less losses, same playoff wins, 1 less playoff loss, and national championship]

Vigen is a very good coach. Cats should keep him around for awhile.

I don't necessarily agree with 5280 here, but just for your reference:

Since 2021 Vigen is 6-7 against top 10 teams, and 2-5 against top 5 teams (could be better or worse on both depending on where UCD and Idaho finish this season, and if the cats play Davis again).

Also just for reference, in the same timeframe, Bobby is 6-10 against top 10 teams, and 3-6 against top 5 teams (could be 3-7, again depending on where UCD finishes).

Ok, so you all feel Bobbie is a better coach than Vigen, and he's going to topple the DSUs before Vigen. The current body of work doesn't support that (Unless you cherry pick a bunch of games and stats like PR does), but knock yourselves out.

It’s not just the record but that they have not even been competitive once in Missoula or against NDSU or SDSU any year in the playoffs.

I'm just giving you their records, I didn't even insinuate either one was better.

I'd say if you just look at their overall record, they aren't that different when they play the top teams.

Yeah, I'd black out that loss to NDSU in the championship game, and the loss in Brookings in 2022, if I were you, too.
 
Keep Vigen and keep losing in Missoula and getting sent home in the playoffs by NDSU or SDSU every year.

I appreciate the numbers they tell a story. Vigen and Hauck are both good coaches. MSU and UM are lucky to have to have em.
