We just lost boxer Sadam Ali, a USA boxer with no mental toughness. First, he was lucky enough to even go to Beijing after popping for a banned substance at the trials. More on that later.
But he had it beat into his head that he had to be up after one round that he COMPLETELY abandoned his gameplan after one round down 3-2. He was only down ONE POINT, and freaked out. Ali was going for the KO from the 2nd round opening bell on, and he ended up losing in a route. Lost 20-5. His excuse was the scoring system. Dummy should have given the gameplan at least one or two more rounds before trying for a KO that almost never happens in the amateur game.
Oh, the "banned substance" that almost stopped Ali before he started? That was bloody CAFFEINE. What, a "world-class" (and in Ali's case, I use that term rather loosely) athlete can't enjoy a Pepsi? Give me a break.
