Idaho

Literally trailed the entire 2nd half until about 1:30 to go. That’s NOT the way to beat a 1-7 team. At home.

Gutted out the win. Well done, Griz! Jaxon with a huge bucket, two huge FTs and the presence of mind to commit the foul on the floor that secured the win. Impressed with his play.

Hats off to Mims. You could tell he really wanted this game and played amazingly well. Would be nice to see him in a Griz jersey.

As frustrating as it was on the Griz end, the refs let them play and it seemed even on the no calls. A rarity in the BSC.

I literally have no idea how we won that game. We must be the worst team in the country when playing on Thursday nights. The Vandys have gotta be kicking themselves for blowing that game after leading the entire night. Huge game Saturday night with Eastern going down tonight. Pack Dahlberg! Go Griz!

The GRIZ seem to get up for the big games. The Bubs just beat the eags,, 70-60., Now, can the GRIZ get up for this next game. I think they can get up for the eags. Big game this weekend ❗

As someone so aptly put it after an earlier game: Jekyll & Hyde. We just never know which version of the Griz will show up. Tonight, Mr. Hyde showed up for a lot (most?) of the game. Then the potion wore off, I guess, and Dr. Jekyll saved the day. Whatever ... we'll take it.

Exciting game. Every time we’re down 1-3 points, we would piss down our leg (missed shots/fumble/throw it away, etc.). But we gutted it out. Great heads-up play by Nap to foul Idaho before the shot to reset the defense. Nice win!

Agreed, but at least they pulled it out. Could have been a much worse outcome.

I’m convinced it was me. I was in and out of the game on ESPN+, and every time I pulled it up, they did exactly what you described. I’d go out for a bit, come back in when they’d closed the gap, and they’d do it again. Happened like 10 times in the 2nd half. Finally I just stopped watching so they’d win.

That's hilarious. I thought it was me. Same watching on and off. I stopped watching after the under 8 minute missed Idaho free throw, Griz down 2 and Riley says something like "finally got away from that 3 point deficit". They then turn it over, Idaho goes down and gets a foul on a drive to the layup. I said to my wife..."That's it...can't watch this any longer" hahaha.

Just win. We need to play into the #2 or #3 seed so we are opposite EWU in the tournament bracket. Hopefully we can use our depth and keep players fresh for Monday. Go Griz!

Henderson getting a lot of minutes and playingl well.
He's learning well too.
He's taking more time to see the court and not dribbling as often. Good composure.

Smart coaching move by DeCuire.
Getting Henderson minutes with Whitney.
That reduces the pressure on Henderson, by not having him run pg full time in his minutes.

41 29 GRIZ at the half.
Offense and defense are being executed well so far.
Yep. Seemed like the Griz were shooting lights out ... and the halftime stats show it: 56% on twos, 70% on treys. Hope they keep that up. (Probably not, one can hope.) Griz hitting the glass too ... 19 to 10 lead in rebounds.

I wish we'd experiment with the press on defense some, and or work with a big lineup more.

Both would help against EWU, if we see them again.
It would be a nice wrinkle to add.
