Idaho AD sweatin': WAC/Sun Belt merger?

I didn't misquote anyone because I didn't quote anyone. I said you move uppers are all unwilling to face the fact that Idaho moving "up" didn't help it at all long term. The institution wasn't helped, the football program's direction is uncertain, and the money to pay for the move is slowly slipping away. Just because they have played "big boy ball", and primarily lost for the most part, you guys seem to think that Idaho is somehow way ahead of UM. Marshall is not better off in my opinion either. To each his own.

I think they think they can be Boise St. Obviously not going to happen. Only 1 "big time" school in that state...hey, wait a minute....................

UI is a much much better school than BSU and is still the flagship and research university of the state. ISU and COI are better schools for that manner. BSU has a horrible graduation rate and is considered by many as a transmuter school. BSU has good new leadership and are making some moves to improve many of their academic departments, but they have a very long ways to go. It is why they are not in the PAC12.

The Idaho State BOE just voted last week to remove the "Flagship" title from UI's mission statement. But they are still the land grant and primary research University in Idaho....

I just heard that today. I'm sure Kustra had something to do with that. He has become public enemy #1 up in Moscow. My inlaws live in Boise and are a big UI family. They always get pretty fired up when BSU is compared to UI in any way. hahaha...

UI is the school that loves to spend other peoples money (i.e. the taxpayers of the fine state of Idaho) to appear to be something they really aren't - wait a tick....isn't that what Democrats do?

Check out the federal debt increases of the Reagan, Bush sr. and jr. years then pull your head outta the sand buddy. Last president who actually REDUCED the deficit was a democrat (Clinton)....

That said though spending on college sports has nothing to do with party lines. Trying to equate it to being some sort of democratic conspiracy only makes the person sound moronic.

Back on topic please.....

That's crap! If the PAC 12-or whatever they are- wanted them, they'd be there. BSU would be second or third best in the PAC 12.

You are silly beyond belief. Last time I checked Idaho had sold fewer than 4,000 season football tickets, play in an antiquated facility that is the single smallest in all of FBS, averaged fewer than 12,000 in 2011 home attendance, can only be reached by stagecoach (or dog sled in winter), have zero winning tradition and must compete with a PAC-12 team 9 miles away. If you are really trying to compare UM with the Vandals - in any way- you are even a bigger no-nothing dufus than I give you credit for. I'm embarrassed for you.

ah, tokyo, ya got it all wrong. just read what this famous democrat said:

Cheney to Treasury: "Deficits don't matter"
Former Treasury Secretary Paul O'Neill was told "deficits don't matter" when he warned of a looming fiscal crisis.
O'Neill, fired in a shakeup of Bush's economic team in December 2002, raised objections to a new round of tax cuts and said the president balked at his more aggressive plan to combat corporate crime after a string of accounting scandals because of opposition from "the corporate crowd," a key constituency.

O'Neill said he tried to warn Vice President Dick Cheney that growing budget deficits-expected to top $500 billion this fiscal year alone-posed a threat to the economy. Cheney cut him off. "You know, Paul, Reagan proved deficits don't matter," he said, according to excerpts. Cheney continued: "We won the midterms (congressional elections). This is our due." A month later, Cheney told the Treasury secretary he was fired.

The vice president's office had no immediate comment, but John Snow, who replaced O'Neill, insisted that deficits "do matter" to the administration.

oh, wait a minute. that was a repulicon. and that was before two dumb wars, two tax giveaways to the billionaires now funding these super pacs and the monstrous bailout urged by henry paulson after bush's disastrous economic stewardship. where were all ya deficit hawks back then?

Idaho demanded to jump when Boise did in the 90s even though they were REMOTELY ready $$ or support of fans etc.

MSU is also holding UM back in a similiar hostage type situation. The Board of Regents are full of bobcats who seem to think that MSU HAS TO MOVE UP if UM does. UM is almost if not totally ready for a move with a bit more $$. MSU could take loads more $$ and still be lightyears behind in fan support and community support, this makes them alot like Idaho.

UM is almost ready for a move up, MSU is not. We will see how the Board of Regents holds UM hostage to MSUs penis envy. Having an ex bobcat Qb making demands for MSU on the Board of Regents doesnt help.

BSU does not have the academic standards to be considered a member of the Pac12. Thus, the Pac12 didn't and won't invite them. If they did invite them, BSU would accept in a heart beat. Got to look beyond just athletic success though. A stellar football program will only get you so far in they eyes of a major BCS conference (save for a deserate Big East).

You are so off on what I said I don't know where to start to try to get you back on topic. I never said YOU compared UM to Boise State. Find where I said that before you rant and call names. I said the move uppers, which include you apparently, never seem to remember the many, many programs that have moved up and not done well. Move uppers have selective memory and only want to find a couple shining examples, like BSU, that support their case. To say we should move up, move uppers have to compare us to BSU implicitly because I don't think you would use Idaho as an example of why to move up....right?

You're either a "glass is half empty" guy or a "glass is half full" guy. I think we know where you stand. :|

Boise State? Really? When did they get injected into the conversation? Do you hear voices?...The response was to your off-the-wall comparing UM with Idaho. You know Idaho? The little school in the Palouse?
I'm suspecting ADD may be part of your problem. Zzzzzzzzzz.

You are either living out of state and want big boy football with no cost to yourself or you want someone else to pay for the move up so you can pretend to be someone. We know where you stand. ;)

You are right. I was just told that by a group of seven people at MCC this last Friday night. You are intuitive.

I have diagnosed you: narcissistic. I lumped all move uppers together, and some talked about BSU and Idaho not necessarily you in particular, and pointed out that most are ignoring the reality that many, many schools did NOT benefit from moving up. Agree or not?

Can we quit being cheap chickens and move up already? I have told O'Day that I will be willing to pay extra. Do the same.

I would pay more if I thought it would be better to watch. I don't. Frankly, playing shit BCS schools we have no history with is not enticing to me. Even if we did well, playing another shit BCS team in the "Fight Hunger Bowl" means nothing to me. No amount of money or yapping is going to make that scenario sound good to me. Now, if we had a division that had Nevada, Idaho, Boise State and MSU in it, like the old days, I could get excited about it. That will never happen and you know it. But lets say it did happen, and we win the division (two big ifs) are you telling me that playing the seventh place Pac12 team in a meaningless bowl would excite you? You people that want to move up for that type of situation mystify me.
