Since the subjects changing to EWU I'd guess they'll only lose 1 more game in the reg seaon.

Until Ewoo shows they have the capability to stop anyone (recall that they gave up 35 to a horrible SHSU team who trailed a DII by 40 and scored just once on the DII's first unit), they are still an unknown. The offensive talent is good enough to be a final four team, but there's enough questions that the possibility of going 6-6, 7-5 exists if things go sideways.

Ouch. Anything's possible, but I'd say anything other than 9-3 would be a total failure with our remaining schedule. I don't really see us losing 5 out of 8 against these opponents, and to be honest, running the table is not out of the question, either. Montana and NAU are probably our toughest remaining games. We don't play Sac or CP this season.

The tough games are likely to be NAU, MT, and PSU (I can see a possible game like the MSU game). No way EWU loses more than 2, providing there are no further major injuries.

Everyone seems to forget EWU won the chipper 4 years ago and went to back to back semis the last two years, with the same style of play. Maybe a little better D in 2010 but not the offense we have now. 15-1 conference record the last 2 years and 8-2 in the playoffs the last 4 years. Seems to be working just fine. Tough to find a hiccup in the remaining regular season schedule as well. Every game besides the Griz, Eastern will be double digit favs...

That's the difference between the 2010 eagles and the 2014 eagles... The 2010 team actually had a defense that was good enough to win a championship. This year's defense is not good enough to do that. You can only go through so many shoot outs before you run into a team that has a much better defense. It's still early enough in the season for the eagle defense to improve, but the same result as last year will happen without a good defense.

Fair enough...
Maybe we can borrow the Griz D for the rest of the year...

I will agree with this. Offensively, we're always around the top nationally (Baldwin is an O wizard). The difference between the 2010 team and the 2012 and 2013 (and possibly 2014) teams that couldn't get past the semi's is the defense. In 2010 EWU led the country in take aways; that is the difference in a lot of games. They gave up a lot of yards, but they were able to get keeps stops or hold opponents to FG's when it counted (See NC game). Until our D can learn how to do something similar, it's difficult to see us advancing past the semi's. Our O is on a different level, but all it takes is for them to have a few bad series, turn the ball over, etc. and we lost the game. We say that in the MSU game when Adams had a poor first half, and all of a sudden we're behind in the game because we can't stop anyone. It is amazing that we won that game having more TO's than MSU, a lower third down conversion %, and well over in penalty yards. The real difference in the game was the 3 4th down conversions MSU tried that EWU was able to stuff, as compares to the 2/2 on 4th down by EWU.
Maybe, they lost to UNLV by one, but that doesn't answer the question. There is no reason UM has to win by 30+ and I doubt that is their game objective.pussycatkillerz said:kemajic said:Why?pussycatkillerz said:Griz better win by 30+ this weekend.
