I Think Getting Blown Out in the Second Round

. . . is still way better than losing in the first round. Just ask Nevada, Iowa, Arkansas, Kansas, Syracuse, and Michigan State, each of which had to return home before we did. We were in pretty solid company when the day started and we hung with them in the first half.

And it was NOT the day's worst loss.

1. Witchita State is no Cinderella. They might be the most underrated seed in the tournament.

2. Why do guys who play for Steve Fisher end up making big mistakes in big games? Tough loss for SDSU.

3. I root for KU and am now starting to believe that Bill Self is overrated. At least when Roy was in Lawrence he would have the common decency to bow out in the second round at the earliest.

4. Michigan State lacks on the court leadership. The great Spartan teams of Cleaves, Mo Pete, Charlie Bell, and Mike Chappell had leaders who insisted on winning. Ager, Shannon Brown and Paul Davis have lacked leadership and Drew Neitzel having the chance to step up has defferred taking control. Tom Izzo is a winner and needs to get some guys with balls to play with Matt Trannon.

5. West Virginia v. Northwestern State (LA). Holy crap load up the kids into the monster truck and head to the nearest trailer park. This is a hillbilly dream come true.

6. Is LSU overrated or is Texas A+M that good. Damn good game.

7. If Steve Alford is heading to Indiana he gave Iowa a last game to remember. This was Iowa's best chance with vetern leadership and the threw it away.

8. Bill Frieder doing color commentary on the radio scares the hell out of me.

9. The Griz had a great year. Hope 2006-07 is even better.

10. If you are down by more than 12 and there is only a minute and a half left, don't foul.

11. To spice up the play in game they should have put a Cincinatti v Air Force game in. Give the winner a 13 seed. Make it interesting.
