I Like QB Britt

And, after tonight’s exhibition there is zero doubt in my mind Britt is a better option than Brown. Is there anybody out there than feels otherwise (besides maybe Bobby?)

How? Didn't he only throw twice? And weren't these snaps against back ups? We have mostly seen Brown against 1st stringers. We have never seen Britt play against starters, we have not seen him stay within a score of a top ranked team either. He looked good running the ball against Cal Poly, in the snow(which most of those players have probably never even seen snow) but, everyone that touched the ball looked good.. Ostmo ran for over 200 yards on cal Poly starters.... a griz players fart could have boosted them an extra 5 yards against Poly.

Whatever, man….That’ just like…..your opinion, man….

And you’ll never see it if he is never given the chance… Kind of like a store saying why do we need a wheelchair ramp, nobody in a wheelchair ever comes in here. But yeah, let’s continue to bring in 1 yr transfer quarterbacks instead of developing recruits who have potential just because they might throw a pick or two (hint: transfer quarterback stroke throw interceptions too). The only reason we were within a touchdown in the previous game was because of our defense, 114 yards of offense Is just pathetic

If Britt stays, he could be Jordan Johnson like.

During spring camp, I was speaking with a Griz offensive coach. We talked about how good Lucas Johnson would be. He was very excited about LJ. Without asking or being prompted, his exact words to me, "Don't sleep on Britt. He's going to be a great Griz qb in a year or 2."

Honestly to God, he said that. That's all I needed to hear. I'm hoping that happens in 2023.

Thanks for that info, Rule. JJ started a lot earlier under different circumstances, but it’s encouraging to hear some on staff have confidence in Britt.

When I was down on the field before the Griz/Scat game last year watching the QB’s warm up, one stood out amongst them all….Britt. Above Cam, above Brown, above Patterson.

For the record, I'm pretty confident, if the decision of Brown over Britt, is likely Bobby's. Just my opinion though.

Soooooo great to know that Aalllllll you experts know that Britt is the one.

I guess I like Britt, but I haven't yet seen any Dave Dickenson productivity.

Great boys did you see that one pass - OMG that was wonderful !!!!!!!!

I don’t know if Britt “is the one”. But I DO know that Brown is NOT.

Well, Bobby does see those guys play, a hell of a lot more than fans on a message board. I trust Bobby's decision over some random person on the internet. Lmfao

If Britt was better than Brown he would be 2nd stringer. That's obviously not the case. And even if he does have some better talent, he probably doesn't know the playbook. One or the other.

How many times have ya seen Britt throw a pass vs anyone on the coaching staff? Quit acting like you know shit, when you don't know shit.

Let’s not forget how many yards Brown produced last week. 114 in case you forgot. Mitch Roberts could have produced more. Levi Janicaro could have relived his Big Sky days and produced more. Who gives a single f—k what the coaching staff sees all week. I can tell you what happened last week and it was dogs—t. I wonder if the coaches saw that.

Britt should be the #2 all day long.

Probably would have been worse with a third teamer.

I'll be curious to watch Britt against a real defense. Not taking anything away from him. You play who you play.
Watching the game last night in person, I mentioned to my brother to watch how badly Cal P tackled. It was like they didn't even want to be there. Literally couldn't tackle their way out of a box. If the starters couldn't tackle you know the backups couldn't tackle.

CP ranks 122/123 in total defense. Train wreck.

But, slightly better than ewu...123/123. Ouch.

We might see more of Britt next week.

If LJ is the example of what your QB should be able to do within this offense, then it’s hard not to think Britt is that guy. He has a pretty similar set of skills and playing style. We haven’t seen much if the kid from Oregon or Huot, so I have no idea what they bring to the table. But there are and have been freshmen playing QB in the BSC for all of Haucks second run. Most of them have been more than serviceable players.

Developing QB’s isn’t a strength of this staff or of any of Haucks teams because it was almost always a transfer that was counted on to be the guy. And there were some good transfers - no doubt. He doesn’t like underclassmen in any position unless injury backs them into a corner. Look around the BSC. That doesn’t seem to be the prevailing sentiment anywhere.else. If they can play, you devote time to development and let them take their lumps early. Haucks right about one of his coaching philosophies - you get better at playing football by playing football. Not sure we’ll ever know if Britt can really play.

Stylistically, he fits the offense. The only knock in comparing him to Lucas Johnson is that he gives up 4” and 40 pounds. I hope we get to see him and his athleticism though. He could be a similar player to JJ. 🤞 Time will tell.

Well, one guy is 35 and the other is 20.

Touché’ lol. Wonder if Britt can rap?

I noticed when the game ended there were a lot of players who came and celebrated with Britt…like an interesting outpouring of support for him…like they all feel he should be the back up and were happy for him to show what he could do. He’s played in mop up duty twice they year, but he looks 10x better than Brown when he has. Britt is a gamer. Brown is not. And you can see it easily on the field of play.
