I don't sense the excitement

Missoulians support the Griz passionately. Late season weather, holidays and budgets probably limit some locals from attending, just like the out of town season ticket holders. No real shame if we only get 17K to 20K at this one.....our attendance this week will probably exceed the combined total of last week's 4 FCS playoff games.

It will be cold and pretty damn loud!!

One of the loudest playoff games that I remember with lower than normal attendance was the SDSU game in 2009. A lot of people left early when we were down and you could see a lot of empty seats, but damn... Those who stayed made so much noise it was insane.

I am not from Missoula and only come to Griz games, but I would imagine a liberal town and the liberals in it do not get too excited about the Griz and the playoffs, alot of the support comes from out of town, and those are the people that are really fired up. Missoula probably only gets fired up for like gay marches and Obama and Tester visits. :twocents:
When did you find out that you had this handicap?

Is this why every business in town has a Griz poster, schedule, banner or window painting?

Take your politics to the correct board.

Agree! Really sick of football posts ending up somehow being about Obama. Take it somewhere else!

Well, nothing Obama has actually fucked up is ever his fault, so maybe we can pin Missoula's so-so response to the return of the playoffs on him. 8-) 8-) ;)

Does anyone else sense that our fan base is bored? I don't really feel like the town is wired like it usually is, especially after missing the playoffs last year.
I think that is just because it is the second round game for us. We have been here many times before. Trust me by kickoff there will be more excitement then you have seen since the last semifinal playoff home game.

Almost certainly the last home playoff game of the 2013 season...last time to see the seniors live in WaGriz. I hope we can make Coastal s*** their pants when they come back into the stadium right before kickoff.

Not so fast...If We beat NDSU on the road (yeah, it's a long shot, I know, but on any given Saturday...) and Maine loses to UNH (probable, actually, given that it just happened 2 weeks ago) and SHSU beats SELA (which should happen, since it took something like seventy eleven turnovers by SHSU to lose to them 2 weeks ago then WE get to host the semfinal game... 8-) 8-)

I also think this preseason video is good to watch and to help reflect/appreciate all the accomplishments of this year's team. Props to the person who made/compiled it.

That was me, and you are welcome! :thumb:

The dominos all fell in the right order in 95' if I remember correctly. Go Furman!

:) Of course it is still possible to host another game. My point is that I hope Griz Nation doesn't take a playoff game/experience for granted and treats it like there is no tomorrow.

Great work, gmg.

Mr. Steve Ross may have single handedly provoked and energized all of Griz Nation this week. Even Jill Valley mentioned it the news last night and posted on her Facebook page. Thank you Mr. Ross, you are a true hero to Griz fans around the nation. I hope you'll be in attendance tomorrow for the coldest game ever played in WGS. Welcome to Big Sky country!

I think his quotes have been picked up by quite a few people around the country...congrats on that Steve. :thumb:
