Huskies view on the game, not surprising.

LOL, Spanky, you are a piece of fukn work.
Helena, you backed yourself into a corner trying to be cute and now I’m a piece of work?

No corner at all. 4,999 is closer to 0 than 10,000. Does that mean that 4,999 is close to 0? Most would say no.

I read this and laughed. I seem to remember that UW has an athletic budget north of $130 million while UM is in the neighborhood of $25 million. I don't even think UM has the largest athletic budget in the BSC. A quick search and it looks like Sacramento St is over $30 million and Northern Colorado is just south of $20 million. You can make your own conclusion based on your definition of "close".

Someone should remind him that EWU was one play away from beating them twice in the very recent past.

That’s a decent point, but isn’t that more of an indictment on our performance against FBS competition than it is this dbag writer?

A number of top tier FCS schools have competed very well against FBS opponents, while we seem to take the “lets get our money and hope nobody gets hurt” approach.

Box, I don’t recall Helena discussing athletic departments revenue?

I was talking about the whole big picture. UM is closer to Northern Colorado in pretty much every conceivable way than UW. And just for Spanky, I didn't say close to Northern Colorado, I said closer to. This can be said for every other BSC athletics program also. There is only a fine line between UM and other BSC schools, and the past 6-8 years are proof.

So, Helena, in your view, does closer to mean we are far apart since we aren’t close?

Spanky, how about this, I think you are farther from smart than dumb. I figured if stated like this, you would feel good about it.

As they say, the bottom line is I believe we can win against Washington. Many on this forum have been outspoken and believe the Griz (their team) will lose. Although you likely will deny it, I think you believe Washington will win. Correct?

With 99% certainty I believe UW will win. I would say with 50% certainty it will be by 20 or more points. Has anyone seen an actual line for the game?

In another life I attended many tennis matches with family members who were players. On occasion I thought our player would lose, but kept my thoughts to myself. Often, our player won. I wonder now about the outcome if I would have been outspoken against our player?

Probably not much different. Better teams and better players will win most of the time and even more often when there is a greater disparity.

The competition I mention was mostly against regional and National ranked players. The perception of many of them was a player from Montana can’t be very good. One of these players was from Chicago ranked #3 in the nation. Our player, from Montana was ranked #94 in the nation. Our player defeated the boy from Chicago 6-0, 6-1. My point, Helena, is in athletics there is an intangible called heart. The Griz can win Saturday.

I never said they couldn't win.

So far, lines are all over the place, with a range of 24 to 41 for the UDubs: "You pays your money and takes your choice."

No you didn’t, but you gave UW 99% certainty.

They’re predicting some gametime rain showers, Raids. How do you think that will impact us?

Good thing we scheduled this game instead of selling out at home, because now the cross country program can operate this year. I never knew.

Gate receipts to keep the Grizzlies cross-country program running
